Description
Rigel is my property. She is member of the Sisterhood.
This piece I made using watercolors and colored pencils for Rigel and an enhanced computer image for background.
Her name was Akelha Yunare, she was a special operative, sort of a black op, working on Mars. Akelha was an alien and her existence,as well as that of many other ops was a top secret, reserved for high officers of Earth. They were part of a Space Unit, that work closely to some government entities to prevent alien attacks or illegal operations on Earth.
Being her appearance very similar to humans, she could easily walk and work among earthlings without being noticed. Akelha was a very proficent agent and even when used to work alone, she had some partners, two of them humans that colaborate with her in particular missions. Other intelligent beings from Earth were recruited for special situations, and that showed the linguistic and diplomatic abilities of Akelha, because one was part of what the media recognize as a Bigfoot, who was called Rowerk, and became closer to the alien woman.
After many missions, some succesful and others not so, Akelha Yunare became one of the most needed and praised operative on Earth. She became closer to humans and at some point the government decided to make a meeting with some scientists, the most brilliant on the planet to face an impending situation. A dangerous criminal was presumed to began introducing his cartel to Earth and he was on genetic altering drugs that wasnt extremely dangerous for some aliens, except they were pretty adictive, but could alter drastically the RnA on humans. The guy was called Gannio Du Fok, he was humanoid and supposedly was from Alpha Centauri.
Among the scientists that would aid with the research were Camilla Braden and Ramona Rivasplata -later known as Panthera- that worked together but not easily, as Akelha later realized. Their different view of things made Gannio be able to escape, even after being almost trapped. Ironically it was Camilla point of view the most accurate, but Ramona´s dislike against her confused the plans of action. A new chance came months later, but this time Akelha decided to make a personal action when Gannio was detected in a meeting with other criminals, in a deserted Factory. The misión wasnt authorized, because the place was labeled as a dead land due to some unknown toxic deposits that were underground ,and not defined. Authorities orders where to follow the criminals and trap them once out of the place, but Akelha was eager and ignored the orders. She and other three agents proceed. When they did and were detected some bad guys open fire, literally, using powerful weapons. Akelha and her men fire their own, killing some of them. Gannio tried to flee, but the only escape route was blocked by the operatives. It seemed the mission would be a success, when one of the thugs, that was firing a plasma cannon was hurt and in his fall moved the weapon and it fired a shot to the underground, where nuclear deposits kept hidden...and all hell breaks loose.
The subsequent explotion destroyed the place and killed many, but Akelha and Gannio survived, their genetic highly altered, as well as their appearance.
Akelha´s Brown hair was radically burn and turned white, her dark eyes became pale blue and her body became a sort of a nuclear recator, but she wasnt radioactive, like if her organism could be able to adapt and absorb energy without harm. In Gannio´s case his physical appearance wasnt radically changed, but his organism was full with energy, too. Scared at first, the evil one asked for help, but soon realized about his newfound powers and flee. After being conscious and be declared healthy, but gene altered, Akelha was suspended of active service and with some reserves her high ranked bosses thought on using her as a special agent. However, Akelha was afraid they would try to put her on containment and turn her a commodity more tan an operative and made the attempt to escape. Not a surprise, her old friend Rowerk, with the help of a now feral Panthera -aka Ramona- made their move to put Akelha out of her containment...on Mars.
Once on Earth, Akelha realized Gannio was called Alkaid and used his powers to try to be crime lord on Earth, and maybe on another planets, too. Panthera assured they needed help to deal with that new powerful menace, so asked Akelha to be part of the Sisterhood. She agreed but she needed a battle name. Sparrow suggested Rigel, since Akelha now had the power of a star and Akelha agreed.
