Nice work, as always. I'm guessing the tree was either black on top of white-on-black, or possibly a very skillfully-applied eraser. Am I right?

that's right, it's black card-stock with white "water color" over it, the figure, tree and grass blades are india ink on top.

some kind of gouache I guess.
