The nostalgia's strong in this one...

LOL~ Heya, guys. Gosh, haven't uploaded anything in ages! This particular piece was sketched out months ago, but sorta took my time with the colouring. But here it is, nevertheless.

As many of you know, I'm a HUGE fan of the early 90's toons - Street Sharks & Extreme Dinosaurs being my favs - so while re-watching this old toon I had the urge to draw the four main guys... Just because. It's a VERY old series, so my chums who are younger than 20, I highly doubt you would remember this since it aired when I was about four or five years old. Unless they re-aired it, of course... But yeah, it was quite popular in its days. Particularly the music; it really has a one-of-a-kind of tune that you won't hear anywhere else!! = www.youtube.com/watch?v=DF-ph-… that's the end credits, and here's the English theme song = www.youtube.com/watch?v=VR9J2I… Very catchy. Now guys, it was quite huge here in SA, but was dubbed in Afrikaans, thus why I use the name Brakenjan! It's how I remember it best, and during it's time, almost everyone named their dogs Brakenjan! XD XD

Such nostalgia... Now for those who are wondering, the show's of course based on Alexander Dumas' novel: The Three Musketeers, but instead used anthromorphic dog characters (along with some other animals) instead of people, and is actually considered an Anime. Names are more-or-less kept the same except for D'tartanian being changed to 'Dogtanian' to accommodate the show. XD It's worth a watch if you can look past the ancient animation. Am yet to watch the second season again...

As for the pic, I've strayed away from my usual 'copy the style down to the last detail' plan and went my own style, giving the characters a little more 'modern' appearance but kept an old style colouring to them. The background's weird, I know... My two fav characters are Aramis and Porthos! Aramis is quite a hottie (for a Spaniel, LOL) and is such a charmer with a lovely, soft nature who prefers reading/writing poetry than fighting, but at the same time is very skilled. Not to mention Jeremy Irons plays him in one movie. XD Porthos is the leader (I seem to have a thing for leaders... well, sometimes) is skilled and authoritic but has also proven to be a joker at times too... plus he's a German Shepherd, one of my fav dogs so bonus! Awesome sauce.

And there you have it, really. Can't say I'll be doing more of them in the future but we shall see. Hope you likies.
