My gosh, I’m so happy with how this turned out!

This is the ‘finalized’ version of sketch ‘Tod Cub 5 ’ (see Scraps). I was a little hesitant to spend the time to finish the lineart and coloring of my previous sketches (as they’re not particularly strong to begin with), but after skimming through a few tutorials here on dA, I decided to give it a go anyway, and wow.

Basically, I zoomed in 900x on the sketch and using a hard, thick pencil, inked it with my tablet, concentrating on moving my entire arm instead of just my hand/wrist. Then I dropped the layers of colors on with a large brush, and just for kicks, laid down a shadow layer, (which as depicted, I’m pretty sure is technically impossible). This is the first time I’ve tried applying any of these techniques and I’m still surprised by how well they worked…

That said, it’s nowhere near perfect, but honestly, I was fearing much, much worse.
