Description
This picture is my contribution for our dragon calendar - Draci.info 2013 (May). I am happy I finished some bigger picture after such a long time. This one took many, many hours but it was a great practise with using only coloured pencils without any underpaint. And of course I was looking at several photos of nature while drawing this. I hope you'll enjoy it at least a bit! :]Polychromos pencils, colorless blender, pencil.Β

Finally i can leave a comment on this beautiful picture! When i saw the sketch i knew that this will be a very amazing picture. I just felt in love with this one.
The colors are so vivid and warm. I especially like the green of the gras and the blue of the sky. It also amazes me how soft the transitions are. Everything looks so smooth and realistic! Great job with all the details as well. I love it how you drew all the scales and feathers of the dragon mother.
Also a like the shadings and the highlights of the whole picture and i just love it how you drew the clouds.
They look so soft and fluffy xD
In my opinion it's one of your best pictures, really.

I quite enjoy this image of all color pencils as it looks so real in the way even without the use of an under-paint. I think this is quite a cute scene of a mother teaching her babies how to fly, by placing them over the ocean on a cliff edge, seems the little one are taking it in full stride though. The shading and how you did it is just as wonderful an so full of depth, especially on the landscape of the rocks, brush and mosses and the water, the clouds look good to, all well done.
