Description
This picture is my contribution for our dragon calendar - Draci.info 2013 (May). I am happy I finished some bigger picture after such a long time. This one took many, many hours but it was a great practise with using only coloured pencils without any underpaint. And of course I was looking at several photos of nature while drawing this. I hope you'll enjoy it at least a bit! :]Polychromos pencils, colorless blender, pencil.

Awww man, this is just so beautiful.
It gave off such a warm, happy family vibe that I couldn't help but smile.
It probably also helps that the music that happened to be playing at the time suited it quite well. ;v;
I really love how vibrant and alive the colours are, especially taking into account that they're pencil crayons- they don't look dulled at all, and the detail in the shading and textures is really breath-taking. I love the little white tops of the waves on the water and how even though there is quite a lot of blue in the picture, none of it blends in. Everything stands out on its own and yet goes together so well.
I can't stop looking at how well the colours are blended, I really love that sky gradient and all the different hues in the water!
And I guess also, I really love rocky shores and that makes me love this even more.

I musty say that Polychromos pencils are very good, they have strong colours and you can draw little details with them. And I am also using colorless blender

I can't say that I've ever tried Polychromos pencils before, but I'll definitely make a note of that for the future! I should also really invest in a blender too heheh. xD

You achieved brilliant depth with the Polychromos. I really like all of the different shades of blue and green, and all of the intricate detail - even down to the small plants and waves!

Very uncommon to see young dragons I find. This is a great picture to show dragons as teachers of their young, a side not often shown.

Tenhle obrázek na mě dýchá naprosto úžasně pohodově. Draci jsou skvělí, jak jinak ostatně. Ale hlavně mě fascinuje to prostředí... moře a skaliska, možná proto cítím takovou pohodu, když se na to dívám - už se vidím v Austrálii někde na pobřeží, třeba taky na skalisku, a všude kolem pohodoví lidi, sluníčko, relax... myslím, že tenhle obrázek miluju, je pro mne jakousi vizí mé lepší budoucnosti.
