In Native legend, Ignis were responsible for guarding the volcanic crater on Mt. Pyris. Now you'll only see their domestic counterparts chasing each other in Hibiscus Labs. The reason why they are nearly extinct is that the rocks on their back contain a rare mineral. This mineral (when forged with titanium), is said to make the strongest alloy in existence. Obviously, this led to a lot of poaching. All Ignis have a tremendous strength, so the domestic ones were modified to be born with a mace for a tail. They can easily drag them, but it slows the Ignis so that they don't literally run through buildings. They can use their mace as a weapon, but swinging it around can cause them to be exhausted.
