anyways yea this is my take on godzilla (i've completely redesigned aftagoji and i think im even scrapping godzilla aftermath)
they're based off of some mammalians, mosugoji (godzilla 1964), miregoji (godzilla 1999/2000), kiryugoji/sosgoji (godzilla 2002/2003), and rejegoji (legendary godzilla/godzilla 2014)
they are able to pump blood into their dorsal spines to give them a pinkish tint for threatening other kaiju
they mostly communicate in growls, grumbles, bellows and chuffing but will roar and hiss when angery
they typically are active at night, traveling in water to hunt for food
the elder males of the gojirius species typically have spiked chins that look like beards
the ones with the spikiest chins are the alpha males
this individual isnt fully grown yet but is an adult (just no/barely visible chin spikes)

it's supposed to be more of a mammalian godzilla after all! (but still w/ spikes, dorsal spines, scales maybe?? etc)
my friend suggested the back marking idea and i was like, "okay yea totally bc badgers inspired me a lil bit anyway"
