Update; some o' my theory after having listened to the story:
"... came back with more than just gold" = he finished his trades, and then decided to get her with him
Mot already knew about her = from the rumors
Alyssa's clan = The town she lived in
Mot knew the mother (Amy) = probably tradeswoman with her husband
Saved her from the scorching flames = which could mean the parents or that he had put down the flames

kinda to destroy her previous life to start a new one.

Okay, So I did check out ep. 42, Mot was mentioned but only briefly.
And then I found the Mianite wiki (Yay fandom) and it said ep. 55 (which ended up being the right one), and now I see what you mean with his towns and stuffs.
