The morning sun shone down warmly on you as you walked through town. You and your partner, (Friend's name) were hoping to find a bit of relaxation by visiting the weekly market in the small village you were currently residing in. The two of you floated around from town to town, and that was for many purposes. Sometimes you had to flee from the law (Only on rare occasions, you weren't bad people), a disaster happened, or you just had to leave. But the main reason you never stayed more than a month was because you were after the elusive dragons that you had heard about so much.

"(Name), we haven't eaten anything today. I believe it's high time we find something to eat." (Friend) informed you. You sighed, "I suppose you are correct. That vendor seems to have some nice looking bread. We can have that and some fruit for breakfast." (Friend) agreed and went off to buy the fruit as you purchased two loaves of delicious smelling bread. After meeting up with (friend) beside a fountain, you both sat down and took out your purchases. (Friend) smiled and showed you the fruit. "The man was very kind to me and gave me some (Fav fruit) for discounted price after I bought some other kinds. Here," They held the (fruit) out to you and you took it, grinning. "Thanks. I got some bread but the man wasn't so generous to me." You gave your friend a loaf of bread and together you ate the bread and fruit until you were comfortably full. You listened to the sounds of the marketplace; the water from the fountain falling right behind you, the sounds of merchants yelling and advertising their products, the people walking around and chatting, sometimes haggling with merchants about the prices. Children playing and getting scolded by their mothers for getting dirty. Best of all, there was a small group of performers playing beautiful music. (Friend) was listening to, smiling slightly. "I always love seeing and hearing the hustle of market day. It's oddly relaxing when you're just a spectator of the whole thing." They said, looking at you. You nodded, your (E/c) eyes watching the activity in peaceful observation. You let out a small hum of contentment and closed your eyes.

Suddenly, the calming sounds were replaced by short gasps and the cutoff of music. You snapped your eyes open, searching for the source of the sudden stop. You noticed people were looking up into the sky, and you knew that only meant one thing; a dragon. You easily spotted it; it was impossible to miss. It's multicolored scales glittered as it flapped it's wings. It was drop dead gorgeous. "What an impressive hide." You said out loud to (friend), "Let's go!" You started forward, heading in the direction the dragon was flying. (Friend) Grabbed your hand, "(Name), we've never fought a dragon before, we'll be killed." You rolled your eyes, "Well, how do you think the mighty dragon slayers of old started out? Come on." You pulled your hand, and (Friend) along with you. You weaved your way through the crowd and ran off into the outskirts of town. (Friend) was panting, "Please don't just jump into dangerous things headfirst. You know you'll land flat on your face." They pleaded. You snorted, "I have a plan, don't worry. Besides, isn't this why we started floating from town to town in the first place? We can't just let this opportunity slip through our fingers!" (Friend) sighed. What you didn't know was that your amigo had only accompanied you on your adventure because they wanted to protect you from doing anything dumb like picking fights and getting drunk. They had never actually thought you'd actually encounter an actual dragon. That thought terrified them, but they stayed brave for you.

               ~Short time skip~

The two of you were in the forest now, and had lost sight of the dragon, but you continued forward anyway. You didn't show it, keeping your face pretty emotionless, but you were very nervous about the situation your stupid self had gotten you into. (Friend) was right, you were rushing into this without thinking. Normally you didn't even do things like that. Why had you been so quick to chase this time? It was too late to think about that now. In fact, it was too late to even think, because in a matter of seconds you both were pushed down onto your stomachs. Something had hit you from behind, and it was strong. You rolled onto your back and sat up, and looked up to see the great body of a beast almost on top of you. (Friend) Sat up as well, and almost screamed when they noticed what you were looking at.
