Incendius looks over at his bandaged stump of a wing while his mate Tinder comforts him. His chest scutes cracked like a hatching dragon egg, the pain is bad, but his real pain comes more from knowing he can no longer be useful in the fight against Malefor."The other dragons... they feared him so--that Malefor! For he had wiped out an entire race of dragons. I found myself overcome with a hunger for justice like the Celestial Guardian-- I could feel the ancestors cheering me on. I had to show the others he was still a mortal and could feel pain and weakness, and besides putting my flame in the face of Malefor was sheer joy!
...But my only regret now is that I can no longer fight..." ~Incendius
At a standoff when Malefor dared the other dragons to even try to fight him Incendius flew forward and hit Malefor with his scorching flames. Shocked and angered Malefor unleashed the power of an earth attack on Incendius, shattering his chest scutes and blowing his wing from his body, the fact he survived was a miracle.
I realized I had never drew a pic of these two together.

Just as Seiya (from the anime Saint Seiya) said: a scar is the true medal of courage of a warrior. Incendius's conditions made him a disabled warrior but at least he injected some courage to those who believed that Malefor is invincible and indestructible.

I never got to tell you this, but I actually adore Incendius. Your dragon characters are so awesome and wonderfully designed! 
That said--the poor dragon :\ Losing a wing is one of the worst injuries a dragon could sustain... but at least he showed his courage! He's a very brave dragon, and for that I really respect him.

Aww thank you so much, Incendius' character is based on my Dad who is also a disabled veteran, and can also be pretty funny at times.

It's always terrible for dragons to lose a wing. It's an important thing in their personality. Dragons are known of their wings.
