So it took like several months, but I finally got around to making some HttYD2 fanart. I almost forgot how much freaking fun night furies are to draw. Httyd2 really got me thinking about night furies and what other ones could possibly look like. I started thinking about a type of night fury that lives in a more tropical region than that of Berk, and came up with the one featured here. In comparison to Toothless, the tropical night fury has more noticable markings on it, like stripes and spots. The markings are still pretty faint though.It'd be awesome if they touched more on the idea that Toothless could possibly be the last of his kind in the third movie. I like the symbolism of Hiccup and Toothless being unique in that there are no other people/dragons like them, but at the same time I would love to see some more night furies. Who knows!

I'd like that too. Although we have seen Valka's bond to dragons, but even she didn't have his open mindedness. For example, Hiccup suggested they talk to Drago together but Valka responded wth a "We protect our own." If they do explain about night furies in the third movie (and final one hopefully since I personally think a fourth one would be a bit too much considering what we know about the plot so far prior to the third movie not even being released until 2017) I bet they'll find a way to make Toothless unique from them, even if others of his kind might actually appear.
