December 2016Another style experiment as a follow-up to my Uzebox sprites . Here, I expanded the Dig Dug sprites into a full mockup. The tiles you see here are 20x20 in size but with a 16x16 hitbox. By carefully overlapping them in Tiled I got a really neat effect where they "popped out" a bit from the grid. You can see this best with the grass tiles which overlap characters quite a bit.
