I am too lazy to color this...

So basically, because I am also too lazy to do the prelude to this, August doesn't understand people who are genuine about their emotions. He was born from a nightmare of being betrayed by someone who you thought you could trust completely, combined with the shards of stygians who met with a tumultuous end. Without a guide to ease him into this world, like Molly had Figment, he came out kind of a confused, unpleasant mess. Molly feels like maybe she messed up blessing his jar and that's why he's... the way he is. She tries to make it a point to bring him along to things and try to teach him how to not be a... well, kind of a jerk, even though she's generally scared of others and new experiences herself. Clover doesn't like him very much, but tries to be nice to him anyway. This just makes him more confused. Sage is more knowledgeable than the others about the ins and out of being a stygian, and also senses the memories of the other stygian in Augustine. He senses that he's full of a lot of turmoil, and wants to help August understand himself better, but of course August keeps pushing him away. Eventually, August finds himself actually liking being around everyone and hanging out with them, but he doesn't understand that either. It makes him uncomfortable to be... comfortable around others. He thinks people are only nice to others for their own gain, and by getting comfortable he's opening himself up to being hurt. Even though... he doesn't really understand why he feels that way. It's like instinct from all the weird memories he has swirling around in him. All this inner turmoil starts to take its toll on him, eventually manifesting in sort of a corruption.

^here are some other sketchy comics I tried to figure out his character and interactions with the others. The first one is pretty rough. Well I mean, they're all rough but the first one is a fight between August and Clover.

He can be kind of a difficult character to write he is a complete mess OTL
