Just a small idea that sprung into my mind.

We never actually see Aerrow and the others get hurt (it's a kid's show after all), but they're bound to get a bit bruised up in a battle, right?

As the team doesn't really have a medic, I suspect that Piper saw this as a serious problem after she and the others got beat up one-too-many times. Being the bookworm that she is, Piper studied herbalism, first-aid and medicine to become the Storm Hawk's unofficial healer.

Piper also decided to take Junko on as an assistant. The most empathetic of the group, Junko had a natural talent for helping others whenever they were feeling down and despite his great strength or size he was always gentle and soft-spoken. She knew he was a much better choice than Stork - who was always paranoid about illnesses that probably didn't even exist - or Finn - who had a short-attention span. Even Aerrow wasn't an option due to his reckless behavior.

In my mind, any time Aerrow got hurt he would turn to Piper for help (and we all know Piper would drop everything to help her Sky Knight).
