Looking great so far, all these additions make the scene more lively. c:

Yes... .. . It will be interesting to see how far I can push the activity of the image before it starts to degrade the viewability ... .. .

There's a lot going on already, but I'm sure you can push it, still.
It is a rather complex challenge, given that there is motion everywhere, at least to some extent.

... I think the secret will be in how well I can catch and direct the viewer's attention ... If I can manage a looping progression I should be able to hold the viewer for a time and the repetition might also alter the brain rhythms of the observer to help hold their attention even longer... .. .Β We shall see ... .. .Β

... Forgive me ... I confuse easily ... but I am not sure which effect to which you are referring ... but ... This is a forty frame infinite loop gif ... mostly made by merging translucent frames into background frames ... The colors of the background are set ... the color shifting is from the overlying Translucent Color frames shifted a bit each frame and then merged to its base frame... .. .Β
I use a mac mini .. a optical mouse ... and the "Gimp" drawing program ... .. as it is free and therefore fits into my budget ... .. .Β Thank you for your interest! ... .. . I am not sure if this explained anything at all ... but ... Please feel free to ask for clarification ... or for that matter ... any other questions are welcome ... ..Β Β

I was reffering to this color shifting effect.
About the tools used for this, I'm surprised by the fact that it was created with optical mouse, not drawing tablet. It's hard to draw using a mouse, I use it for drawing only when I'm bored or I don't have access to my tablet but only a mouse and Microsoft Paint.
I sometimes use GIMP too, but I prefer Photoshop and Paint Tool Sai.

I started my computer drawing with a mouse ... switched to a tablet ( I got for Christmas )... but the nib in the pen wore away... and I switched back the the mouse... I draw with my arm not my fingers anyway... and actually I don't really think about it while I am drawing... .. . There is a section in my Gallery where everything was done with draw tablet ... they may be slicker images than the earlier or later ones .. or not ... .. . I wouldn't be able to judge ... .. .
To do a color shift looping gif ... Decide how many frames you want ... divide 360 by that number ... ( if 10 frames, shift your color by 36 ) ... for more.. say 20 frames .. you can stay with 36 and cycle through twice per loop ... or ... sift by 18 for a slower shift ... .. . there are all kinds of tweaks and mixes and merges you can do .. but .. That is the basic color shift ... .. .Β

These changing colours look a bit similar to gemstones. Especially this mountain in the background and the sky, it looks like they are made of opalΒ

The great advantage of not really knowing what you are doing is that you can occasionally do things you had no intention of doing... Sometimes I even remember how I did things ... but ... once I have done something I can usually reverse engineer how to do it again... .. . The more fun thing is when I Dream of how to do something I have never done before... It is such a faster process !!! ... and I don't have to try and "Think"!! ... .. .

Unfortunately I'm not good at reverse engineering. Sometimes I don't really know how to get the same effect I created by doing basically random things

... The first advantage you have in trying to reverse engineer your own stuff is ... "You Know it can be done." ... .. .Β
... the second advantage is muscle memory ... Our random actions will tend to follow a pattern ...Β
... You may not do exactly the same thing in the same order ... but ... this time you know where you want to go ... discard what takes you in the wrong direction andΒ keep the actions the bring you closer to your goal ... You may not find the perfect path to reproduce an effect ... but ... You will find Effects ... which you will have a better chance of remembering how to do... Because You Are Paying Attention To Your Steps ...this time ... Myself, when this doesn't work ...I blame the fact that I am an "Old Fart" and have short term memory loss disorder ... .. .

My memory isn't good. And the problem is that sometimes my random actions aren't following any pattern. There are few drawings I created using random options on Photoshop. I only partially know how they were created. I tried to recreate this effect but without success
For example this one:

If I were using Gimp I would think part of this came from the RGB Noise Tool .. The Enhance Tool .. and The Blur tool ... .. . of course I have no idea what the starting image was ... .. .Β
I think that memory is often overrated ... Promoted by those people who are always promoting organization and schedules ... .. I don't do organized well .. I seem to be alergic ... .. .

The starting image were probably random brush strokes.
About schedules, I feel locked with most of them

Dragonforge In reply to Karren-san [2019-09-13 21:10:50 +0000 UTC]
... I am not so good with schedules ... part of that is my time sense ... .. . I do not normally think of things in a linear fashionΒ ... no (because .. then) ... Everything just seems to happen when it happens and all is connected by a random web of time flow ... .. . I will admit that that is NOT an orderly or necessarily efficient view ... but ... as I said .. I am allergic to too much order on my part... If I become too organized I will become Ill... .. . I will get a lot done ... .. . for a while ... .. . Then my body goes into shutdown ... .. .Β Β Β
