Description whee, I fixed my our scanner (and saved us about + $100) and scanned in this. It takes forever to scan stuff because of our ancient computer but the lines are much smoother
I also realized another thing: scanned pics are really big o.o I had always wondered how do artists draw huge pics because it's really hard to get proprtions right. Now I know

um, I drew this a while ago. Abother one of those it's-midnight-can't get-to-sleep-must-draw-in-my-closet pics. This is based on my picture of me when I was about 7 years during my first communion. I changed my eye style to add the the 'youth' factor. The photograph is one of my favorites
I really do like this picture and wanted to colour it, unfortunately, it's my first time I've even scanned anything and it shows creases, smudges, and stuff

Another way that artists draw things really big is by 1. using grids, 2. zooming out on the image (in a paint program) and doing all the "blocking out" of the figures with the canvas looking small, then zooming in to do the detail. The second way is how I did my picture of Magnesium. Of course I shrank it down when I was done but I always color at a very large size so I can get in the details.

oo that's when i had my first communion too

when i scan pics in, i usually have to outline everything by making the scanned picture the background and add another layer on top of it so i can color it the right way after i outline everything, i erase the original drawing so i just have the basic outline. SOOO much easier to color that's how i do it...u can find ur own way if u want
