We live in times, where there's no privacy and people need to know everything about you, otherwise they perceive you as weird, "not one of them", stranded. They reach for your secrets, they reach for your core until you have nothing left for yourself, just an empty husk, just what they can see.Related content

It's an interesting thing.
It's possible to avoid all of these inquiries, but that's a very deep isolation; a painful burden in it's own right.
Which will we choose: To have our viscera exposed for all to see, or be forgotten ash?

This is actually a pretty interesting question, but it's possible to keep your privacy and have good friendships. I think I manage to do this pretty well 
Although everyone is different and while ones prefer privacy, others crave attention and there's nothing wrong with that, unless they hurt someone in the process or do their thing in the wrong place (for example pornography on DA... there are so many places those men and women can find to show off their bodies in a sexual manner, but they still pick portals like DA or tumblr to do this... I mean... it's just distasteful; by that I don't mean nude models who help artists learn anatomy or artistic nudity, there's a difference)
So as I said, you don't have to isolate yourself completely, but there are people who'll dig into your past and privacy to learn about you more to either stalk you or bring you down, but it doesn't happen that much to regular users, it's mostly an issue that strikes celebrities or overall people that are more popular on the internet, because they attract fans and a lot of attention to them, though either way it's good to be careful.

I agree with your last paragraph and your thoughts on perverts who frequent this site.
But for me, if I have a truly good friendship with someone, there has to be a large amount of vulnerability. In some ways I guess you're right: It might be that I'll never share the inner part of myself with any of them, but it seems to me that complete vulnerability has to be there if anyone is going to truly understand me.
I'm working on it, and it's a slow process. And maybe it'll be enough if I can share all of myself with just one person. Idk. Well, maybe I do.

Yeah, I can definitely see that and I gotta admit, only a few closest people know me all the way through and for the most part those are people who I know personally and not via internet (well, maybe with one exception). Either way though it's better to be careful with this, you never know if someone you trust would stab you in the back and I've heard sooooo many stories from many people with such a circumstance.

I've had some experiences of friendships that fade away, and some that have made some serious betrayals against me.
But I'm still going to try and reach out; be vulnerable.
I hope you don't let past pain and the possibility of new pain stop you from trying to be vulnerable.

Great concept, great artwork!
What strikes me most is the difficulty of the work, it must have taken a very long time to do.
As a viewer I sense she will pull the hand that has her by the throat away, then break free.
She will maintain her independence, her individuality.
I also seems that this is very personal, artwork this powerful like this usually is.
In that sense you as an artist have revealed part of your soul, but you only reveal what you decide to reveal.
It is there to see if one only looks hard enough. This is what I take away from this.
Other viewers may take something different away from it, that's part of what makes it so great. Β Β

It wasn't that bad, although the hand and arm positions were the toughest task, also it was hard to capture the face and neck in the sketch, but I finally did it the way I wanted

People who surround you and need to know everything about you, like strangers or even your friends, it depends... Those times just don't give you privacy: facebook, instagram, snapchat, all the social media where you post pieces of your life just so others know you're alive and social, otherwise you're pushed away and perceived as weird... This is the world we live in now

The only thing that comes close to that is that some people are a bit too curious.
And about socialmedia, this is the only account i have and so far people have been ok.
There are some terrible stories that happened. But itΒ΄s also not right to have a "I vs Them" mentality.

You might be right, but if there were no rebels in this world, everything would be stuck at one place and would never move on or change in any way, women would be stuck with no education at homes with tons of children and raped by their force-married husbands, black people would still be slaves, churches would still charge for confessions and everything would be chaos like back in the days... So it's both unhealthy and needed sometimes, in my opinion at least

Too true, unfortunatetly. On the flip side, I also think that it has become more difficult to open up, be honest and talk to somebody when you need to, many people have become insensitive to others feelings and the problems they may have in life.

That's totally true, unfortunately... Also media, instead of teaching people how to respect others, it drives people into thinking that sex, money and fame are the only priorities in life and that's most probably one of the reasons why it all looks the way it does...

It depends on how deep you hide it inside, which also leads to another extreme - loneliness and seperation from the ones who truely care about you... That's why I try to look for a middle ground

I'm not so sure about the answer, that's why I look for it... In a perfect world, I guess, people would respect others' privacy, nobody would need to hide themself, everyone would spread love and support, noone would desire to get into someone's asshole just to know every detail about them, but this is just my own naive vision of this world, this will never be a thing. To really find that middle ground I'd have to know what people truely want and then try to achieve it

I've never expected my art to be as moving and relateable, but I really appreciate it... But yes, this is exactly what I meant when I was drawing it. And the worst thing about it all is that not only celebrities or politicians are experiencing it, but also everyone else, it doesn't matter if you want or expect it from others, nowadays it always hits us, people just seen to desire the core of others, the curiousity is unbearable and the privacy doesn't exist...
