Hello everyone! I would like to formally announce the beginning of our Autumn Air Contest!! I realise it has been quite some time since our last contest, but I hope that we can do these a bit more often, and that we get some good participation from our community! I will be updating this journal often with any participants as well as any extra prizes or details, so check back often! Also due to the contest, most of the regular journal features will be postponed until next issue, sorry!

Contest Details

The theme is Autumn; when the forests are set ablaze with colour; a brilliant palette of crimson and gold, and the late summer suns basks the earth with its warming glow. A magical time of awakenings and endings, the world around is changing, another year drawing near to an end, but with it the undying beauty and wonder endures.

Your task is to draw an Autumn theme depicting dragons as they embrace the new season. This could be your OC flying through a forest as the fiery leaves fall from the trees, or perhaps our mascots all playing together in piles of leaves! The choice is yours and bonus points will go for being creative!

All drawings, sculptures, crafts and literature are permitted. Judging will be based roughly on the following aspects:

60% on creativity
20% on artistic ability (And grammatical correctness if you are submitting a story)
20% on overall impact of your piece

The above is just a guide and we primarily want to give emphasis on the idea and style of the piece, as opposed to how good you are at drawing/writing!

The rules for submission will be the same as for our regular gallery submissions (found on our front page), with the added restriction that it must also have an autumn theme.

The contest will run from now, until 11:59:59pm GMT on Monday 26th of November, with winners being announced in our Friday Journal on the 30th of November.

How to submit your entry

When you have completed your entry please submit your entry into our contest folder! You must do this for your entry to be judged! If you are not sure how to do this please follow the instructions below:

1. Go to the page for you deviation.
2. On the right hand side click on 'Submit to Group'
3. Select DragonNation from the list.
4. Select 'Autumn Air Contest' from the drop down list. (It should already be selected as it is at the top of the list)
5. Click on the 'Submit button'

And that's all there is to it!

There will be a maximum of 3 entries per person, but please be aware that only one of your entries can proceed to final judging.

Prizes!

The prizes listed is just the initial list, we plan to add more before the contest ends! So keep checking back!

1st - 1 year premium membership, a copy of Dragonart Evolution: How to Draw Everything Dragon by Jessica Peffer (neondragon ) and your entry will also be permanently placed in our featured gallery, while also being featured in our journal for 1 month.

As I mentioned at the start a lot of the usual journal content has been differed until next issue due to the contest, so I apologise for the inconvenience! But I hope you enter our contest and maybe win yourself some nice prizes!!
