Wooo did this one take a while!
But twas fun all the same. This is one of my first attempts at painting a underwater setting. (this was drawn for one of my friend's Birthdays she loves the ocean so I figured, why not?
)As to what that is exactly I've no clue. Lol, Maybe a odd sea monster or something?
Hmm...those gems seem to be holding his interest rather well. Hmm...wonder why?
Anyway, happy birthday to you, dear!!

OMG! when I saw the thumbnail I thought "could be for... me?"
First of all: i LOVE the colors. this is soo DARK BLUE!!! really, this is absolutley my favourite color, especially when it's mixed with other tones of blue, it's just pure joy for my eyes!!!!
Second: I love the dragon. He looks sooo dangerous. Can I adopt him? *tries to pet him and got eaten*

Wow! Dramatic improvement in your art here! I know it's the first time you've done this but stick to this style, I didn't even recognize it as your's in my inbox. I thought it was from one of those big artists in one of the clubs I joined. Absolutely love the depth and the lighting you put into this, it's a whole scene and I absolutely love it! Do more, do more~
What you have going on here will be perfect with practice, but the only problem I have with the image is the fact you didn't take light reflection as well into consideration. The green gem is green because it reflects green light and because it's highly reflective the light on the creature's face should appear much more green not pure.

As for the lighting I agree there. I could've added a bit more but this is my first attempt at an underwater setting. So yeh, mistakes will be made.
But hey, at least I know what to do next time.
