Description My finished half of an art trade with PyralDesign  and her lovely boy

I hope you like it ! I did something completely out of my norm by going with an EXTREMELY loose background and if you notice there is not line on the horse which was extremely challenging but something I always wanted to try to push my shading skills that much more and I'm very content with it I hope you guys enjoy it too I worked at least 2 days on the background using a ton of different brushes in my program that I normally wouldn't use like MARKER, and the blender brush has also made its return and is here to stay in my work I also dabbled in some watercolor brushes for this and I like the effect once I learned how to use them better

I let my imagination run with this one and imagined him a retired horse older in his age a few pounds heavier and knees knobby, and enjoying a breezy meadow with tons of grass

He looks great in his old age. I'm glad he's still going strong as an old man

The background looks great, and i like how the trees were made. They look cool

I used a marker brush for blocking color in and used a salty watercolor brush for blending and more texture

Do you use Sai or Photoshop?

I used to use SAI for my backgrounds and just add the image in on another layer when I still had sketchbook 6 but I got 8 pro and it has 100000000000's more options and brushes available that 6 never could have so I just felt I'm not using the whole of the product if I'm still so reliant on SAI for backgrounds because I love the brush pen on sai so I just cut cold turkey and forced myself to learn all these brushes in this program so I only use sketchbook for everything I do now, it is REALLY worth the price because you get access to brush packs, tutorials , challenges, soooo much I highly recommend it and the workspace is totally customizable
