Ironically, I looked up her name the other night, and while Hael didn't come up, Hale did and it's pretty much the same name. But it means hero. I named the hero "Hero"

Yeah, tell me about it. I'm on my second play through right now, and I'm sticking with the Scorpion heavy pistol with Cryo ammo, the Graal spike thrower shotgun with inferno ammo, and the Collector ammo. Kinda makes getting rushed by thin enemies like Husks a pain though, seeing as they're both slow firing heavy hitting guns, but they come on handy when I haf'ta fight Brutes and banshees. I hate Banshees.

And considering Brutes and Banshees are just ridiculously powerful, having that kind of firepower is a life saver. And you have back up squad mates to help with those husks and stuff.

It's named after one of the main characters in the .hack// franchise (which as it turns out is an alternate interpretation of Basho Matsuo's name), but I can also spell it with the Tsalagi syllabary, which I am, so yeah.

Google is telling me that it comes from the Greek name Stefanos, which means "Crown" and Wikipedia says the actual name Stephanie means "Crowned one."

Well, "Stephanie" is probably a more recent respelling of Stefanos, but the root of which means "crown". That, and seeing as how your Shephard's name is Hael, that akes you a Crowned hero!...Ine. Hero queen. Was that sexist?

I don't think that's sexist at all lol Personally I don't think anything's sexist until it's used in all seriousness to insult or degrade, even in humor. Not saying I don't enjoy some sexist "women in the kitchen" jokes from time to time, but as long as they are strictly meant for a good laugh I don't care... Which sounds both confusing and hypocritical now that I think about it ._. Made more sense in my head lol
ANYWAY! lol I do believe it is a recent respelling of Stefanos. There were a ton of other ones for different languages too that didn't look even close to Stefanos! I like the Crowned Hero though. It has a nice ring to it ;3 Hero Queen too!
