Crona rode on the road next to Digi in his kart. “Good of you to join us!” Digi joked but kept seriousness in the tone of his voice. Crona nodded and opened his side of the intercom, “ We gotta catch this guy! I WILL NOT allow him to get away with Lilly…Or Tekz!” Crona’s voice was gritty with rage as he growled, “Well never catch him staying back like this, Its time we speed things up!” Digi nodded, He knew what Crona meant. He put the pedal to the medal and his kart jumped forward as the technological design glowed green. Four wings unfolded from the back of Crona’s motorbike and a light bridge connected the circuit, creating an infinity symbol. The two vehicles leapt forward as their ultimate moves were activated! As the surroundings flew by Crona seemed to take lead of the two, Digi’s kart was no match for his bike when it came to speed and Digi knew so well. It wasn`t long before the heroes were only trailing a few seconds behind the kidnapper. Tekz looked over the back of the kidnappers kart and barked happily. Lilly got up and held onto the bars, She smiled as she saw Crona was coming to save her. The focus Digi and Crona shared was immense and for moments it seemed unbreakable. Digi was cruising closer with every second when a deep voice came over through the intercom .“Say Goodbye!” It simply instructed, The voice was jumpy and glitched! “Watch out!” Crona shouted to Digi as a hand appeared from the kidnappers kart holding a small box. Digi`s eyes widened as the hand put pressure on the button. Explosions raged and echoed above the track! Rubble began to collapse across the road. Digi`s Kart had no trouble, It`s sturdy frame kept Digi safe as rocks smashed into the side of it. “Come on ol`girl. You`ve been through worse” Digi softly spoke as if the kart was a person. It seemed to help as it ploughed forwards. If only Crona had been so lucky, A Gobstopper rock smashed into his front wheel and Crona crashed as rock seemed to bury him! Digi was shocked asking himself `Is that Game over?!` But his concerns were settled as a recognizable voice broke through the static of the intercom. It was Crona! Digi sighed with relief as Crona spoke to him over the static. “Go…without me, I`ll catch up. Save them. I believe in you bud!” Crona`s voice was gravely and pained but Digi didn`t let this sadden him. He had been given a task and he was NOT about to let his best friend down! Digi noticed that The kidnapper swerved to avoid a power-up. Wait….A power-up! Brilliant, Just what Digi needed! Digi drove through the box and it shattered against the bonnet. Digi waited with hope as the power-up was selected.
…”SWEET SEEKERS!” The announces voice informed.
Digi’s face lit up with joy. He had never got this power-up before and from what he heard this is what he needed to end it quick. He loaded the sugar cannon which appeared when the power up had been selected and rapidly fired. Three missile like candy corns shot from the cannon before it disintegrated into a dust. The missiles screeched as they tore the air around them, Two of the three shot off as planned and hit the earth behind the kidnappers kart. It flipped and collided with the earth with a large crash, Tekz had cuddled around Lilly to cushion her. Digi had him now, The kidnapper quickly regained their place though, Picking up the cage they started running across the rainbow bridge. Digi got to cocky and was about to increase speed so it was lucky another loud crash stopped him. Digi skidded his kart to a stop as a pillar crashed in front of him blocking his path, The third misguided missile had hit the pillar causing it to fall. Digi thumped his fist down and jumped out and continued the chase on foot. He felt a deep crushing pain of fear as he ran towards the exit. He knew he would have to leave his usual safety of the shadows! He chased after the kidnapper through the busy crowds in central station. Determined; He never lost sight, Pushing people out of his way. Ignoring all the shocked gasps and abusive words that were thrown at him. Digi stopped at a nearby gate and looked for the games title. It flashed across the screen, `Heroes Duty!`. Digi sighed. `Great` He thought. He had heard about this game and he didn`t like it! But knowing this was a dead end for the kidnapper he ran inside and down the connection cord. The atmosphere was so much different from all the other games, It was dark and eerie. A horrid stench roamed the air, Digi even considered turning back and giving up But then hearing Lilly scream for help, Tekz bark and remembering his promise to Crona, He ran further into what he could only call a `twisted` game! Digi found the cage in the middle of a plain, on its own! Lilly and Tekz were inside looking afraid, almost as if telling Digi not to get closer. There was no sign of the kidnapper what-so-ever. This would usually alert suspicion but not for Digi! He just believed that maybe the kidnapper had been swiped up by a cybug and eaten. He entered the open area through a small entrance and walked towards the cage. As he got within a few mere center meters of the cage the entrance fell, causing Digi to jump as he turned. A glitched deep voice laughed at Digi. Digi finally saw the culprit but it wasn`t who he thought!
