Backstory: Spirit was one of the eggs in the nest along side Cynder and Spyros, However an egg theif stole him as part of a raid, One which Ignitus stopped before too many eggs were taken. The egg theif sold Spirits egg to a rich family under the name of an "Ancient artifact". Thinking it was just an artifact and nothing more the family put the egg on display in a glass cabinet. It wasn`t until the egg began hatching did they realize their mistake.
Spirit was brought up by the family as if he was one of their own; eventually being taught to control light energy, as had been the ability of the family for many generations
All was good in Spirits life until a dark cloud loomed overhead. A larger purple dragoness threatened his home and so he fought for it. However he lost and was thrown far away, losing it all; his home destroyed and becoming separated from his thought-as-family.
From that point he cursed vengance and pledged to do whatever it took to get revenge. He began to hunt the dragoness with intention to kill. Along the road he crossed Spyro, who was around his age. Spyro offered a place for Spirit to stay back at the dragons keep which Spirit Gingerly accepted. It was from the four dragons that Spirit learnt of his past and who he really was. He began to learn to control fire from ignitus. He wanted to learn all four elements but was stopped however when Spyro was sent to face the dragoness. Spirit followed and teamed up to fight the final battle. It was when the dragoness transformed back that Spirit halted his revenge intention. Instead of hitting the final blow, He helped Cynder up~
When Spyro and Cynder were selected by Eon to be Skylanders, Spirit was recommended by them. He was trailed by the portal master and after showing determination through many failed attempts he was selected as the first of a new element; Light!
