Dull light broke through the cracks in the blinds and flooded into the room. From outside the window, the sun was making another descent as the day ended, Creating an orange tinge to the room. Inside the room Gloyd`s heavy footprints drowned the drone of the staff and patients in the hall as he paced around the room. He stopped every now and then to look up or at the unconscious body of his brother. Ever since Dravix had stabbed Digi he had never stopped worrying. He was getting into a bad habit and he knew it well; He wasn`t sleeping as much; He had begun to give races a miss; He was always more easily stressed and it was starting to cause his friends to dislike him. Instead for the last few weeks ,since Digi`s was placed in hospital under “Critical Error”, Gloyd had made sure to visit every day to check on the recovery`s progress. He looked at the un-moving body and sighed sadly. He had been over the moon when he received word from Vanellope that after a lot of difficulty, Rage quit- retrying, and electrical shocks Crona had managed to move Digi`s saved data to one of his free files which he then had created a network from; but he never expected it to take so long to take effect. He looked down at his feet and clenched his hand into a fist as doubt began to break down his excitement. `Did they lie to me…. Was Crona wrong? If he was then i`ll never get to see my bro again… He only has one more day!` His grip intensified with each negative thought until his nails were cutting into his palm. One by one, tear drops hit the pristine floor. He crept over to the bed side and took his brothers clawed hand, he could feel the warmth of the heroes skin meaning that Digi`s blood was circulating properly. Gloyd checked for a pulse which he easily found, beating at a normal rate. The sorrow felt by the pumpkin racer increased dramatically as he whispered, “Why won`t you wake up dammit…”. Gloyd`s grip tightened around Digi`s hand as a spark of rage ignited from the sadness. Gloyd began to shout at Digi, like an adult would if their child had misbehaved. ”…Wake up dammit!”. Gloyd slapped Digi`s face with the rest of his power; Tears streamed down his cheeks as he refused to keep them back, “For Smarties Sake Digi! They say you only have one more day before they pronounce you dead! Your vital signs are all there! So WHY WONT YOU JUST FREAKING WAKE UP!”… The door slammed open as Sparkz came rushing in, worried about all the shouting. Gloyd turned; at first with horror but then a sense of comfort as Crona and Vanellope walked in, Their pace slightly quickened. They were also worried but as they had brought Lilly and Gabby along, It was near impossible for them to run as fast as they could. Gloyd let go of Digi`s hand which fell lifelessly and ran towards his girl. Still crying, He tightly hugged her. As Sparkz did everything she could to stop her boyfriend from acting like a cry-baby Crona approached the bed side. Crona frowned, “Still nothing?” He asked, looking in Gloyd`s direction. Gloyd shook his head and snivelled; His uneven breathing segmenting his reply, “N…nothing but his v…vital signs are there. D…did something go wrong C..Crona?”. Crona shook his head, “It went perfect. I made sure of it. His code`s all there but why does he refuse to wake up?”. Vanellope sat her and the girls down on the sofa in the room; Moving one of Gloyds blankets out of the way to make space. The two girls put a finger on their bottom lip, intent in thought. Lilly`s face lit up “Mawybe He sweepy?”. Gabby joined in, “Or needs a kiss like in those films?”. The room fell awkwardly silent as glances were shared around the room, It was made pretty clear no-one was going to try. Sparkz broke the silence, “Too bad Bubble`s not here, She would of tried.”Sparkz`s looked upset as she spoke about her pal” Poor girl`s locked herself in her room and when I asked her if she wanted to come along today she just began crying… I guess it would bring too much pain to see him like this.” Her attention changed to Digi. ”Shame!” She sighed, He was a bit of a loser but I liked him for it.” Un-noticed by everyone Digi`s mouth opened a few millimetres as he made a quiet “ugh”. He began to move and stretch his claws ever so slightly. Bored and noticing the movent finally; Gabby and Lilly laughed and pointed at Digi.“Mommy, Daddy! Look he moved! He moved!” they shouted playfully as they pulled on Vanellope`s jumper. Gloyd looked across to the bed.Digi was stirring and stretching in slow motion. Due to the timing it was as if the pure mention of Bubble`s name had alerted him. He slowly opened an eye as he stretched more, His bones making a satisfying `Crack` from stiffness. He rolled his neck slowly. Like every other bone, it cracked loudly.The cracking caused some of his visitors to cringe. Digi Placed his arms either side of him and with his lazily open eye, scanned the room. His jaw was stiff and painful to move but still he managed to speak, “Thank you….”He gave a weak smile. Gloyd lunged in as quick as a flash and tightly hugged his brother who groaned in pain as pressure was applied to his unhealed wounds. Despite his brother`s moan in pain Gloyd kept tightly hugging with his death-grip . Tears of happiness overthrew the previous pained tears and streamed down Gloyd’s face sparkling as the rooms lights came on . “Please let go…. You’re hurting me…” Digi struggled to speak. Gloyd refused to let go. In stress Digi`s heart rate lurked back towards critical. The heart moniters tempo began to speed and in panic Gloyd let go! Digi fell back onto the bedding. “Oph!”He shouted. Gloyd rubbed his back, “Um sorry bro”. Everyone got up and stood around the hospital bed ,except for Gabby and Lilly, as Digi looked around and smiled the best he could, “I hope things were ok while I was gone”. He tried to lighten the mood with some humor, This annoyed Sparkz who just crossed her arms and gave digi an evil look. Gloyd smiled ,”You had us so worried… It’s true what they say you know! You never know what you have until it’s gone!”
