Digi followed the other racers to the starting grid, they would leave their kart there until the race. After parking Digi counted the karts; and motorbike,11! Wait 11… Was one racer a No-show? Oh well not my problem he thought to himself with a shrug. He jumped out and walked up to the pathway in front of the stands for the pre-race recap. He tried to get closer to the other Digi Heroes but whenever he did racers from sugar Rush would block him and shake their heads. Vanellope appeared on the Balcony and did her usual pep-talk to invigorate the racers as well as recapping what the race was for and the rules that must be followed. After she was done she went back behind the curtain and the lids of the stands closed. Everyone was splitting up to do their own thing until just before the race would begin. Sparkz came in Digi`s direction. He tried to politely say hi but she just shunted him out of her way with her shoulder. In pain, Digi rubbed his shoulder as another hero passed; this time acknowledging him. “You ok Digi?” The fox themed racer asked. ”Im fine. Thanks for worrying Sly” Digi replied with a nod. Sly looked up at Sparkz and growled, “What’s her problem anyway?... never mind I gotta go get Kylie. She really wants to explore the fair. See ya later”. He ran off waving. Digi waved back and then slowly followed in the fairs direction. At least one other Hero accepted him as a friend. But remembering back to how Sparkz used to act to him, it was upsetting… Especially to think that she was dating his brother. Digi sighed to himself; he started dragging his feet as the depressing thoughts began to cloud him. Vanellope ran over from behind the stands joined by Crona; this is how Digi usually saw Vanellope. She patted Digi on the back and smiled joyfully, “You ready?”She asked. Digi nodded. “Good, Now Crona told me about Sugar-Slack being on the loose so I got some of my other knights to moderate the event.”She pulled him closer so only him could hear her whisper, “You didn`t just say anything about you know what to Sly did you… My research still hasn`t pulled up any leads”. Digi silently answered with ahead shake. Vanellope brought herself away and looked back at Crona, who expressed curiosity. Vanellope giggled, “Nothing about you Motorbrain, don`t worry”. Crona reacted with a smile. From the distance another knight came into view wearing actual armour. The knight stopped and began panting, it was no guess as to why the knight was out of breath. Vanellope turned, “Anything to report Ridder?”She asked. After a few minutes of panting and heavy breathing, Ridder finally spoke, “Sugar… Slack… was reported seen… running… over by the rainbow bridge... I came as quick as I could.” Vanellope nodded in understanding, “I have to handle this. Digi you have fun. Ridder with me, summon your kart” She ordered. Ridder Saluted”Yes Ma, am”. The two girls summoned their karts from the coding and got ready to set out. Not forgetting him, Vanellope turned to Crona, “Motorbrain…Just stay out of trouble”. And like that, without allowing another world; the two had driven off into the distance. Digi blankly looked at Crona.” So why didn`t you go with her?” He asked breaking the silence. Crona grinned, “She doesn`t want me missing the race~ If she`s not there at the start then it was arranged for sour Bill to take her place. But I have no substitute. How caring of her” He looked in the entrances direction and whispered, “Stay safe my sweet”. Crona stared into the distance smiling, after a while it began to creep Digi out. With one snap of his fingers though Crona was back. The two nodded and raced each other on foot to the fair, laughing happily as the sun began to hide behind diet Cola Mountain.
