Description Yaaaaay!

Just found out that my drawing was accepted to be auctioned off at the Twilight Symposium in Forks on the 28th of June (my birthday!) to help raise money for Forks Art Department!!!!!!!!!!!

(They can't display it in the gallery over the weekend though cos it was drawn from the Movie companion - copyright issues).

How cool! My drawing is going to Forks!!!!!

**Update!**

Here is a link to a twitpic of it on the stage!!! [link]

Robert Pattinson

My other Twilight drawings:

Edward and Bella [link]
Rob's Eyes [link]
Twilight - A Perfect Love [link]
Jacobs Stare [link]
Dr Carlisle Cullen [link]

wow! Look what did to my drawing! Click this link! [link]

Did you know that he co-wrote and performed songs for the sound track of Twilight?

some of the songs

"Never Think" is Rob singing solo and playing guitar on the soundtrack and in the film is playing in the restaurant when he and Bella have dinner. (Link to you tube video) [link]

"Let me Sign" is playing when they are in the dance studio and he is trying to save Bella's life. (link to you tube video ) [link]

He also performed on piano for two hours for them to use as background music for the film and for Bella's Lullaby before Carter Burwell wrote the Lullaby used in the film. Rob still performs it in the film though.

If you search, there are loads more and some life performances too!

About the drawing

Time taken 23 hours Used mostly mechanical pencils, tissues, putty rubber, sharp rubber and a 2h for the skin. Drawn on A4 Bristol Board

Here is the ref pic I drew from, not brilliant, but I loved the pic [link]

Image ref (C) Summit and Stephenie Meyers I do not own rights or claim ownership

A huge thank you to for featuring my Rob in her journal

Thank you for the feature

I find it so weird when people are interested in cakes! I am on a cake decorators forum too, and I can understand the interest there, but then again, when I won the PPA comptition before and posted on that site to tell my friends, they were really interested in that, now I have people on there wanting me to draw for them for commissions. I would love to be able to do that, imagine getting paid for an obsession! But that is how I started my business, loved making cakes, then loads of people started asking me to do that.

Anyway, your cake queries

Not so many of my customers want ribbons, I try to put out at least 10 new designs twice a year , usually experimenting with new techniques too so that I don't feel like I am copying someone all the time. Cake design just goes round and round in circes, so the only way to break out of that is design new techniques. Thats why the cake show I just exhibited at is so hard, it is a cake show for cake decorators to get inspiration, which means, if I exhibit, I am supposed to be showing new ideas for cake decorators, so they look at your work and scrutinise your techniques and abilities and..boy....are they ruthless!!!Does mean that I get to do more unusual cakes than my competitors, but that they often end up stealing my designs!

There are a couple of cake artists on DA that I love, ~ZaLita for her incredible cup cakes, they are always so detailed. Not my thing, but I can appreciate the workmanship.

~Verusca always has a lovely varied gallery and is very neat

*IMntHRimEVRYWHER always makes wonderful desserts

but my absolute favourite is *pinkcakebox I have always loved her work, discovered her long before I discovered DA. Look at the Dress cake in her gallery..............stupendous! The sort of thing I would love to do if I didn't have to do simple wedding cakes that take all my time.

Carving cakes only started cos I didn't buy any of the shaped tins. Now I wouldn't even consider baking a certain shape. It is so much better to carve it yourself. Curves...I don't know, just the angle of the wrist I suppose. For a ball, put a ball in front of you and copy it, similar to drawing in that way.

I don't know if I have a favourite cake of mine. Don't usually like my cakes, see faults in them all the time. I suppose it is more sections of cakes. ie the perfect sheen on a chocolate pot or a really neat finish on an iced cake, or a good overall design.

The ones I took up to the cake exhibition (on my home page in my journal) I suppose I am quite pleased with for that reason. Plus because I invented techniques for all of them that aren't in current use. I quite like the one I did for the BBC One show, cos it was really neat and involved a mixture of skills Worked really hard on that one. Then they couldn't even use it on the TV, cos the people they presented it to decided to cut it with a tree saw for effect, and people would have complained. [link] have no clue how you will be able to judge that competition. Those two drawings that popped up were actually using a ref that I was going to draw, but it wasn't clear enough. So I didn't draw it. Quite glad now!!!! They both popped up at the same time on Aprils fools day too! Here is the link to the reference that I found [link] Hope that helps.

Blimey! You would be there until next year if you wrote a critique to each one, but I think you are the sort of thoughful person who would want to do that.

Right, best get some cake work done

I dunno, it's just kinda fascinating to see you turn something ordinary into a piece of art. I mean everyone can bake cakes, just not the way you do it
Isn't that a lot of pressure if everyone waits for you to show them new stuff?
I think I like the xbox one best I don't know it's just really well done with all the details and I imagine the shape must have been hard to make.
I'm really hungry now, I looked through those Deviants galleries and... oh my... I already knew the last two and that dress cake is really something. I have now idea why it doesn't fall down Do you?
Thanks for answering all my questions, it's really interesting to read

I first suspected a rip off since they were both so well done and posted shortly after each other, but there are some variations... I'm kinda suspicious when it comes to that I know it would be a lot of work, I'll see

Well, at least you didn't do what I did and fave them, then ask if I was the victim of an April fools joke cos I had been had so many times during that day already! They are a little different though, but so exact in their details, I wondered if it was a group of clever artist friends winding Marion up on April Fools Day.

The new stuff pressure is the fun bit. I have a sketchbook full of new cake designs, so if I am running dry, I flick through that and get inspired and design more

This last lot were inspired by a silk handbag and a vase!

I imagine (but don't know) with the dress cake that there is an incredible amount of internal support like wooden dowels and that the dress section itself is sat on a wooden board that is fixed to the central pole. There is a way and means around everything, but it involves a lot of carpentry usually. I prefer to deal in more edible creations, but you could never do something like that without support help.

No you didn't Haha, what did they say?

Alright, that's a good point of view. I yet have to discover the creative side in me Btw, I loved the one which looked like it had stitched designs on it, that was a great idea and it looked really good, too

Okay that explains it, but I think I like your approach better, with the whole thing edible
