Description Not. Street. Legal. I just want to make that clear. Don't be getting any ideas.

This is made from a U nail I found on the roadside and some very tough mystery wood from a skid (I swear it smells like sandalwood when cut). The weapon is called a 'bagh nakh,' or 'tiger claw,' though some discussion has indicated that 'bagh nangra' might be a more accurate name. This is a very minimalist version, with only two claws and no guard or blade.

Edit: It has come to my attention that this is the only bagh nakh on all of dA, or at least the only correctly named example. Either this is a first (which, on a website which features nunchucks made out of brass knuckles, seems unlikely), or I am in violation of the TOS. Gonna go do some fine print reading...

Re-Edit: I asked to have this deviation examined to make sure it's okay, and word from on high is that it's kosher. Thank you to $y2jenn for reviewing the case.

I still don't want any of you making and carrying one of these around, capisce?

Thank you! I never really thought of this piece as a ring, but I suppose it fits the bill.

I actually just recently made a pair of these, which I haven't posted to DA yet. Although I've seen this style of weapon before, I've never heard the term 'bagh nakh'. very interesting, learn something new everyday.

I think it's just called a "U nail," or possibly a staple. This one had come dislodged from a roadside guard rail at some point, where it would have held a cable in place. Waste not, want not, I figured. I cold forged the claw shape into the nail ends, rounded over the diamond profile with a file, brushed off the zinc plating and gave it a light sanding and polishing. Hot forging this would be a very easy project.

very smart
mine was just two normal nails hammerd into a peice of wood then i sanded little curves in the wood to make comfotable, like i said yours is much more to look at and proberly more stable

Your design is probably not far off of the sort of thing that might have once been found in the back alleyways of Delhi (and likely still is). In any case, thanks for the !

This is a beautiful thing.
I don't see how this could be in violation of the TOS when swords and other weapons are allowed- at least I hope not. It really would be a shame if it were taken down.

There's no obvious rule that would disqualify it, save that illegal material may bot be posted. This is a little open to interpretation, since there's no law against owning this, merely against carrying it. In any case, thank you for the favourite!

This is a very nice prop weapon, makes me wonder why some shops only sell swords.

Sword shops tend to specialize in cheap fantasy blades and reproductions of historical or pop media blades. Things like this aren't quite so romanticized. In addition, the sale of such an item is a bit of a legal grey area. It's far too easy for weapons like bagh nakhs, push daggers or other 'thug weapons' to end up in the wrong hands. So saying, I'm pretty sure some martial arts shops will sell items like nekode, which bear some similarities. In any case, thanks for the favourite!
