"Ugh... man, what happened? Where am I?"

Grovyle opened his eyes, disoriented and hurting. Wherever he was, it was obvious that it was nighttime -- the darkness obscured his sight, and for now he couldn't make heads or tails of what was happening. Even his memory was hazy, made all the more unclear by the pain that dominated most of his thoughts.

When he tried to get up, his arms gave way and he ended up landing in the same position he'd been when he woke up. Grovyle sucked in a breath, trying not to cry out lest he attract any unwanted attention.

That was when he heard it.

Huh? What's that noise? He blinked a few times, trying to get his eyes adjusted to the darkness. It sounds familiar... but I don't think it's a bad thing. It sounds... almost peaceful.

He looked around slowly, not sure what to expect. Then, just as he was about to give up, a slight motion caught his attention from the corner of his eye. He looked down, to where a sleeping Pikachu nestled close to him. Grovyle couldn't help but smile, even if it was a small smile.

Sarah...

She was snoring gently, a peaceful smile on her lips. Had she been there the whole time, while he was passed out? Had she finally come back to her senses? It seemed likely; otherwise, he might be dead right now.

Slowly, Grovyle extended a hand and laid it next to the Pikachu, stroking her smooth fur. So... it seems like you've found it in your heart to forgive me, after all. A sudden rush of tears fogged up what little vision he had, and he choked back the urge to sob.
