There has always been something very suave about those old gangsters of the 1920 and 1930s, especially in Chicago when they practically controlled the entire city. Back when they dressed very classy as you so graciously have illustrated Ludwig and Crispy here. Even tommy guns have a certain elegant aesthetic, as opposed to how modern firearms have lost that charm in style. While the crimes may be the same between old and current times, the atmosphere has just changed so negatively. One could suspect that Hollywood has romanticized the classic gangster scene, especially with such films like Robin and the Seven Hoods. Still, those zoot suits bring out a charisma in gangsters that such people sorely lack these days, to say nothing of their whole manner of conduct being nothing less that juvenile delinquency and breaking the law for fun, not giving a care over who gets hurt in the process. Your artwork here may be simple, but it's beautifully drawn and has a great aesthetic image for that romanticized image of the old times that most people seem content to envision. *tips his own fedora to Ludwig and Crispy, imaginatively speaking*
