Admittedly this is far from fancy, but I made it more to convey a point. Jesus' death and resurrection has a powerful point that's often overlooked. As C.S. Lewis observed in Mere Christianity, the only way to attain salvation for an imperfect life was by a perfect - i.e. sinless - death, which only a perfect person could do, but of which a perfect person would have no need. Jesus had nothing, in His own right, to gain from coming to Earth and being a human. Everything He did and suffered was a gift to us. We couldn't wipe out our sin debt. We couldn't survive death. So He did.

Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

It's on the late side for this, but Happy Easter. God bless us, everyone.
