I've seen a lot of memes pointing this out, to the extent that I'm surprised even the most ardent of simpletons still try to weigh morality based on legality. Most of them that I've seen focus on past cases of legal evil like slavery and the Holocaust, as well as modern ones like abortion. I consider those valid, but I wanted something that cut to the heart of it and addressed the real issue of why these people can't even consistently believe what they say. They can talk about laws defining morality until they're blue in the face, but as quick as you can blink you'll find them railing against laws they consider immoral, usually on the very same issues. It's really kind of amazing.

P.S. I'm trying out a new rule for this one. If you want to oppose my stance on abortion for this one, go ahead. But I'll give you two posts to address the "laws decide what's right" versus "some laws are wrong" issue. If I call you out after you don't address it on the first one, you have a week to do it with the second. Do it well, do it poorly, but do it, or I'll block you.
