Description
Pencil, state of mind, and a lot less time than most of my others, and it shows. I will probably do a much cleaner version of this sometime, and add a bit to it. It was an Idea I had a good while back, and I just wanted to get it on paper before I forgot. The nose is totally f'ed up, as is the chin. I probably should have put this as a sketch, but what the heck, I still think it came out ok considering how old it is.
Should I just move this to scraps and wait till I post the refined version? Or do you think I should leave it here untill then? Let me know what you deviants think. *_*

Fabulous! i am both intrigued and saddened by the torment that you seem to project in much of your work. This piece is particularly evocative. i only fear that it takes a man who is worse for wear to produce such an amazing image.
Oh, yes, thank you so very much for the watch. i feel so honoured when people actually express interest in my work. You are now the second person to be watching me! YAY!!!!
Cheers,
Eloise

N/P on the watch, Its my pleasure, I like your work. Thank YOU for your kind words!
Sometimes, I think all artists are tortured in some way, its almost like it comes with the teritory. Sad, but its like even the worst moments have there instances of enlightenment.

i love the idea.. the eyes are really freaky and look possessed, and i love the face in his mouth.. only thing i would do is make the chin shorter.

Thanks, I feel I screwed up the chin, and the nose. It's off center. It was supposed to be just a sketch, but I started shading it, and just havn't got around to doing a finished version. But i'm glad you like it. With all these good comments, i'm going to have to finish that up and post a final version!

This is an intense drawing---I guess that's obvious The eyes are a creepy as the character. Like the work on the teeth and the skull in the throat. Good drawing and imagination.

Thanks, actually the teeth are the only part that I though turned out pretty good. Funny thing is, I started with just the mouth, and the rest of the page looked lonely, so just started drawing outward.

Yes I know with the starting of a mouth---or eye---or box. The wonderful world of art improvisation. I really feel that's the best name for what we do. In music it works along the same lines. If there's no catagory in art with improvisation I'm going to call it that. So Improvisational Art is my explaination of it if it's not already among the 1000 types of art
You know---draw---look---draw---look---see---draw---expand---etc--etc---it's not haphazard---it's carefully plotted (in an instant) in a improvisational way as jazz is in music. A different skill then tradional classical music---but every bit as specialized and skill to play it . Jazz improvisation is no throwing notes together and getting Jazz. I believe the same applies for art. Think the name really fits.

Thank you for that comment. I like your comparison with Jazz, and i'm a fan of Jazz as well. I feel sort of the same way with blues too, as improvision is some of my favorate stuff to see and hear in all forms of art. Sometimes it comes out great, sometimes no so much, but its allways original that way, making it still beutifull in my opinion. Thank you for your insight and thoughts.

ur quite welcome---yes exactly---u know it too---I'm going to start using that phrase--because it's about the closest thing I can call my art---and yours---and others that do this Art Improvisation---or Improvisational Art. Which title do you like better? I'm really going to do this with that name.
Thanks for the support and sharing your thoughts on what I said.

Heck yeah! I like the sound of both, but Improvisational art would be the one I'd use, but for length wise, Art Improvisation might be better....um, well they both sound good so I'm not sure which I would choose. Maybe both could be used? Thats a great idea on a new catagory though, and I will probably use that title as well if you don't mind.

just give me credit for the new name
---Hey---idea---I can survey my friends on the different ways to say it. I can't believe with all the names there are in art that this one never made it's way into the catogories (I'm not talking about da)---well that's going to change
. You know---I never knew exactly what to call what I was doing---not that it mattered so much---but the catogories in art (I don't know many) exactly what I do. That's how this whole name thing started---months ago---maybe more then that---but I figured it had to be out here already---but I guess it's not. There's so many of them
PS What exaqctly is expessionism? Modern? I really don't know.

Ah, i'm guessing parents don't want you getting one. Well, don't sweat it, the time will give you a good chance to think it over. Don't forget, they don't exactly just wash off, and I know a few people who wish they hadn't got some of theirs.

*nods* also, can't legally get it 'till Im 18 without parental consent anyway!
Indeed, I know they dont just wash off, and I have had a good think about it...but still Im not going to rush into it! It will be pondered on alot!
Thanks for the concern though man!

Ah, well then.. I don't have much of a clue yet. I'll figure it out someday, or who knows, I may never get one. I just know I won't get it untill i'm really sure i'm going to be happy with it for life. I'm sure I will draw something someday and realize thats what I want, just havn't yet. How bout you? do you have a good idea of the kind/subject of tattoo you plan on getting?

Lard89 In reply to dragontech22 [2006-06-09 10:34:34 +0000 UTC]
Yea, with mine I think that I want it to made up mostly of things that represent something of personal significance...and so as I get older there will be more things to add on...therefore will probably end up getting it mid to late 20's when, like you said, i know i will be happy with it for life. I don't want to get it done and then not like it! So really i will kind of know whats going to be in there, its just going to be designing how they all fit together!
