Description
The protoptera was one of the oldest species of Drakonomorphs, also called Drakons. This species had lived 300 million years ago, competing with flying animals of the time, they were the winged pycnogonids, during that period had reached enormous sizes (about 2 meter wingspan).
The Protoptera had a wingspan of 25 cm.
Unlike its hexapodal contemporaries these had developed specialized limbs with membranous wings, similar to the Earth vertebrates, which were supported by a hypertrophied finger.
