Nigthmare or Cave goblins (Cryptovolcana troglomorpha) It is a kind of primate, relative of the Tarsies, belonging to the lineage of the "goblins" that has adapted to the life in the caves, inhabiting the deep tunnels carved by volcanic activity or the erosion caused by water. These have a height of up to 60 cm, moving always across the caves in search of different food sources, being omnivorous and feeding on small animals, carrion, and fungi. Its arms and hands have been derived in comparison to their forest relatives, being much more elongated, thin and with exaggeratedly long metacarps with short fingers. Its legs are muscular but short, with a barrel-shaped body, and a flat rounded face, small eyes and elongated ears.

There are some accounts of explorers who have ventured to the caves that when one is alone these primates tend to surround individuals and continually bother the person and even attack with their long arms, in some cases it has been reported to see the bright eyes that reflect the lights of lamps by the dozens
