Description
This is based on a reference photo I used from the lovely ~larafairie-stock which you can find here [link]I thought the pose was wonderful and was instantly inspired! The title emerged due to my becoming mesmerised with the act of painting, which to me is almost like a kind of faery magic in itself.
*EDIT* - I just wanted to say thank you so much to everyone who has given me such wonderful feedback and positive comments about this painting since it got a DD.
I feel really overwhelmed by everyone's kindness - thank you lovely people!

Hey pixie!
Shimmering!
Personally, the pose is great an' all but it's the thing in her hand that intrigues me.
Loving the 'dot-textures' - awesome.

Cheers Matt, that's excellent because that's the whole point of the image - she's mesmerised by whatever is in her hand because she doesn't understand it entirely, I wanted the viewer to wonder what it was too.
How are you? I miss you. Still need to pull a party popper over your head to wish you into oldmanhood hehehehe

Magical colouration, her face is wonderful, and I love the dreamy mood in it. Which media did you use on this? Looks like watercolour.

Yes it's watercolour, I've only recently really started using it and it is such a wonderful medium to work in. I'm having lost of fun experimenting with colour and texture.
Thanks for the comment

Hmmm, I don't like watercolours, they are so hard to get under control..but I know that wonderful feeling when you've found a medium which you really love to use!

You're more than welcome, Ella. Been looking at your jewelry pics, and they're lovely. I used to make jewelry all the time and sometimes miss it. You do beautiful work.

Thanks Tina that's really kind. I've only recently started making jewellery but it's great fun. Very time consuming though so i have to decide on a weekend and dedicate it to that.

Yes, it definitely is time consuming, but it is fun and it's also a very zen thing to do. I started at about age 10, when I would go to yard sales and buy various pieces of jewelry and take them apart to make something new. I don't do it as much these days, though, since having carpal-tunnel surgery, but I still love it.

What's carpal-tunnel surgery? (I was always half asleep during biology lessons, d'oh!)

It's where the tendons of one's wrist squeezes the veins and arteries so that they hurt, can feel numb, and one loses use of them and range of motion problems. No fun.
