"Do you want to go home?" The wolfdog more often than not was not particular with words, or very vocal at all. While his voice rasped against the air's chill, it held a genuine warmth about it's tone as he peered down at his companion. The husky, adorning a dazed and tired look about her gaze, released a heavy sigh as she stared towards the glow of the town's lights. Often, the thoughts of her cozy house, bundled up in the arms of her girl were the happiest. However, a day like this, full of torment and verbal assault from once fellow friends of Nome, turned her blood cold with a sense of unwelcome. She wondered if, perhaps once, Balto felt this way... Was this feeling that which gave him the peace to remain an outcast, to live in the cold world, that couldn't nearly be as cold as the hearts of those inhabiting Nome?

Jenna felt her small form lean heavily against the male's side. His presence was warm, comforting... She felt that he understood her in some way that she didn't have to explain. The chill of the wind didn't seem so bad with his enormous silhouette shielding her.

"No..." she murmured. "Not... Not yet. Can we stay here... just a bit longer...?"

No sign of objection from the wolfdog made itself known. He simply remained silent.

Just a little drabble. I thought about if Jenna had more time to get to know Balto, or perhaps, this could have been an event which occurred before the first film. Perhaps she was initially ridiculed for "flouncing about" with this new friend of hers, seeing Balto as a danger to Nome, while she potentially lured it closer to its inhabitants. She knew Balto to be a gentle giant, but... others saw differently. Perhaps Balto was just more used to it than her. Still, it hurt to get to experience it on a personal level.
