Description
WM 734 performs a runby during a Carl Franz fall photo charter.Myself and a few other railfans where yelled at because we used a flash to illuminate the leaves. The reason was that the flash shows up in the ones taking video and that they said it doesnt brighten the train. Ahh...the flash was to illuminate the leaves. Either way, I also took a video and watched it several times and didnt notice a flash in the video.

This is just stunning, A beautiful shot. I can tell if a train is a model, but it is defitly not! No known big toy train manufactures like hornby, or backmon do such little minute detals. This shot does bring you back in time when steam trains were everywhere . Now desals run the rails, in my opinion they have, no sound, no motion, and they just don't seem alive. Steam trains has everything, from the chuff, wheels turning, and they just seem alive. And for a beast like this, it could pull 100 times it weight. And now for my final score of 10/10.

I love the crisp sharpness of the train and using the flash to make the leaves right in front of you more apparent, brilliant! Capturing the steam and smoke coming out of the train just at the right time was an great addition. Taking pictures in the fall is one of my favorite times in the year to take the best most interesting colorful pictures and you did it with excellence.

It's insane! The way the leaves frame the train - looks almost like a painting - slightly surreal how stylised and EXCELLENT this is.

Well done shot! Sorry you got yelled at, but you know how it goes when railfanning. Maybe to get the same effect next time you could use a stationary light to avoid people yelling about the flash? If only everyone could just relax and enjoy a run-by, life would be good.

I wasnt the only one that was using a flash and got yelled at. Either way, the guy didnt seem to understand the flash was for the leaves and not the train. Its all water under the bridge, all is well!

I hate you.
I've been wanting to travel to see the East Coast Historic and Scenic Railways for the last ten years of my life, simply because I've noticed how beautiful they are and their historical provenance.
And then this gorgeous thing gets a daily deviation.
Our local railway museum has been without their steam for over ten years.
*jealousy-induced rages*
(congrats by the way, well deserving especially for a rail photo. I'm used to seeing a plethora of scantily clad, overphotoshopped cosplay models in the DD section, it's about time something a lot more interesting showed up.)

No problem! I just started volunteering at one of the museums over here, My grandfather used to work on the railroad and it makes me so happy to see more art of "back in his day!"

Well worth getting yelled out. Without the flash you would't have been able to get the colours and vibrance of the leaves. The photo is beautifully framed. Great effort.

I just love watching these giants in action. Their sounds and all are simply amazing among my adventure list to operate one of these, no matter what the size.
