Description This was the main project I worked on last semester - if you follow my tumblr sarahsellersrooke, you probably saw this piece already. It's a scene from the animatic I storyboarded - Flags. A curious little Tibetan goat meets a monster. <3 This piece was my favorite shot from the whole video!

If you wanna watch the full video, watch it here:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=jKM35C…

And in case my mention of my tumblr has you wondering, here are the different places you can find me (and what I post there):
Deviantart: YOU ARE HERE (my fanart, my comics, my finished illustrations, etc.)
Tumblr 1: dragonwolfrooke.tumblr.com (used to be my ask blog for NuzRooke, now it's where I reblog art tutorials, cool art I like, and post screenshots from video games I'm playing as well as sometimes random doodles)
Tumblr 2: sarahsellersrooke.tumblr.com (supposed to be my portfolio site, but I stopped curating it and now mostly post official stuff of mine for projects that go into my portfolio. So if you're a professional that may hire me, this is prolly the site I want you to see.)
Instagram: @ sarahsellersrooke (I need to post more there, but I also tend to post inktober stuff, doodles of mine, etc.)
Twitter: @ dragonwolfrooke (Mostly reblogging and liking stuff right now related to story artists in the entertainment industry. Might start posting little art snippets there too.)

Now back to homework!

Oh I love this! It's so sweet! It looks very much like a Pixar short.

I really loved the video, and the limited amount of colors in it!! It really made them stand out 0: I'm also really fond of the character designs, they're super cute!

... I am now filled with adorableness that is going to last me the whole day, at least! This was, aside from all the cute factors, a very simple but delightful story (and story telling is one of your many strong points). I also thought you didn't do too badly at making the goat noises. This is very daww and I hope your project did well.

Hey, in case you're haven't noticed, the Youtube link you provided in the description contains a time stamp, so it immediately throws you ahead in the video. Might wanna fix that!

Oh my gosh that was just adorable
The way you drew this and conveyed movement with still images was great! There was also really good amount of detail not only in the characters, but also in backgrounds and I really liked that! Even though it was little sketchy you portrayed everything very clearly and it was very easy to understand what was going on. The expressions all characters had also told the story very well on it's own, too!
Also, probs for the sound design in terms of sound effects and music (and timing the music with the "animation"). The only bits that bothered me were the dubbed goat voices (with headphones they sound a little bit jarring compared to everything else) and at the end where the goat ties the rope I was expecting a sound effect for tying it, but I felt somewhat let down when there was nothing.

This was really great, though! I loved it and I would love to see more stuff like this!

Ooh, thanks! I fixed it. Didn't even notice that, heh!

And thanks! Sketchy was definitely the aim, since this was made as a storyboard portfolio piece (and since my job won't be the one of cleaning up rough boards, it's important for companies to see my raw sketches to make sure I can do the job they want. )
Because of that, the sound design definitely was more tacked on, and not the focus of the project. I just recorded myself making goat noises as placeholders, found a few sfx for the more important noises, and a buddy whipped up the music to match with my boards, just to help carry it nicely. Same with the added color - my professor requested that I add a little color, just to make it nice, but the version going into my portfolio is sans color. ^^

Thanks! I've got a lot of storyboards I gotta work on this semester, so I'll post more of 'em here as I get them done. ^^
