Description
A quick animation of Rusty jumping to audition to be a part of the team SSSWarriorCats.Pretty much just showing that I can animate in their style. Here's hoping I get in!
And actually...looking at it...I recall that I actually animated it with Ravenpaw's facial fur design, rather than Rusty's, since Rusty's turns down rather than sticking straight out. But I gave him Rusty's green eyes. OH well.

The animation is so smooth. What did you use for the animation, and how many slides (if that's what you did) did you have to draw for it to look natural? That's what I'm having trouble with, along with where to upload it on here

I used Flash CS5 for the animation. And I don't really know how many frames it took. See, don't think of it as a number of frames. Instead, think of it in stages. Say, this guy jumping. First I drew him crouching, then I drew him LANDING. Then I drew frames to fill in the gaps between the motions, so like I'd draw a frame with him falling towards his landing position, and another with him leaping away.
If you think about it that way, you can always add in MORE frames, and use trial and error until it looks natural.
As for uploading here...I can't remember how I went about that. ^^"

Thanks anyway! The "filling between stages" is a better idea, rather than not having a finish to aim for. I'll figure out everything else as I go along.

You could deffinently make it according to the correct movements of the animation, but smoothness doesn't really matter in animation if you're worried. But it's about getting the movments down right. You have a beautiful talent. Everything is nearly perfect! I hope you make it!

Yes! Smoothness really doesn't count - once you understand the principle of frame rate and stuff, you can make anything look smooth. What really matters is weight and volume control, moving the objects and characters involved in a manner that makes them believable to the audience. Exactly! It's great to see someone else who gets that.
And thanks! I actually did make it in, not as an inbetweener, but as a shading animator, so I'm still thrilled about it. I hope to learn a lot and improve through working with them.

Awesome! That's so great. I love animating - it's time-consuming and mind-numbing, but I just love it. Do you have a Youtube account?

This is the best by far on:
- Smoothness
- Cleanliness
- and the closest to their style
I hope you become the next animator
