The first arrow is very symbolic in the amazonian tribes, depending on the shot, most tribes feel it tells you the outcome of a war before it ends. Meaning if it hits something significant, the out look of the war seems good, however if it misses and hits the ground or something, the outlook seems bleak and warriors tend to lose moral.
