I just can't leave this thing unsubmitted anymore. It's been sitting in my computer for months now, and I already mentioned in several journals that I had a "surprise in colored pencil and ink". And here it is: an attempt at getting a cel-shaded look with colored pencil fills with ink outlines.

During the war between the Vioramacht Federation and the Ovinamahki, a new faction rises from among the battle-scarred planets: the WarMachine Empire. Led by a rogue A.I. and a tyrannical Chissmech, it is a force to be reckoned with. And one of the reasons is the GearMonoliths, massive mekhinae who serve as the walking tanks of the WarMachines.
This GearMonolith was discovered by Draguunthor while she traveled through a war-ravaged asteroid belt filled with ship debris. It was soon discovered that it was not a casualty of war, but a discard. The WarMachines had abandoned this particular GearMonolith because somehow it had developed an undesirable trait: compassion. At some point in time, it ceased to follow battle protocols and began caring for living things, especially birds. Thus the WarMachines shut it down and jettisoned it into space, knowing full well that most spacefarers would never take it aboard. Most.
