Extraordinarily sophisticate title, I know.I always see the need to draw sometime when my classes start anew. It's my second year here, and it has been hitting me hard - though it is the last year I will be formally in classes. I found a certain lecture to be the perfect time to check my rusty skills.
They're rusty. Anatomy is nonexistant. Shading is... well. Made up.

The anatomy and proportioning are slightly off, but none-the-less they are beautiful sketches.

hahaha. Maybe... they're supposed to be naturally wiggly and have necks off kilter from spines....
But, yes. Alas, I did not proofread as I usually do before commencing the shading portion.
I'm curious, for this is a habit of mine and I wonder if it is the same with other artists - for the hapless horse fellow on the left - I drew him flipped from my standard left to right pose (hence difficulties... hah). Do you find yourself tending to draw creatures facing a certain direction?

Lol, of course. However, no body said that you couldn't draw of mutated animal!
I do have the same difficulty, yes. When I was younger and had a previous account on here, many artists used to note the same problem. I try to stop myself from drawing continuously in the same direction (facing left) and can succeed. But, on the odd occasion that someone notices the pattern I just explain that there is always something amazing happening just off the left size of the page.

hahah - welll. I was going to draw wings, but that dream was left unrealized as it became too muddled to even comprehend.
So I laughed and abandoned that idea.
