i have always been curious as to how to take pictures like this, its gorgeous, how do you do it?

i had a light shining on the bowl of water (which i dyed blue); got a lime, sliced it up; simply dropped the lime in the water and tried to take the picture at the moment the lime hit the water. i'm sure there are more simple ways to do it, but that was my tideous method!

i had a question for you actually--what type of pictures do you usually find most appealing?

well I LOVE water..
so anything with water, anything with lots of colors, or black and white and really contrasty. If it has some strange or very original element to it...say you have blood on the grass, im just going to not even second glance...but then say the camera is under a piece of grass and the blood is dripping from it...thats gonna really draw my eye...cuz the originality of it..

i love contrast...oh it can be so nice sometimes...but sometimes i've found really dark set pictures are ok (but they usually have to be color) or b&w light photographs can achieve a nice effect...
but mostly contrast is yum...
maybe you should try the bloody grass idea!
