I just decided to check out some Sidebar Gadgets today and realized there weren't many left readily available except here. Well one of the sets I downloaded included this one - in Chinese... So I went in and realized it was a mod of the Concept Status Gadget someone created here earlier. So I went thru, re-translated it back to English, made a few fixes for things and voila. Here it is. And it seems pretty sweet. Saves me space from about 5 of my fave Gadgets now that they're all-in-one. Enjoy. Works fine with both Vista and Windows 7. To install it, extract it to "C:\Users\(your name)\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Sidebar\Gadgets"Related content

Is there any chance that you can figure out what makes both your version of this Gadget and the original one crash under Win10 Gadgets (Revived)?

Not likely - a) I didn't write the gadget - just translated and tweaked it. And b) I no longer use the Gadget system.

Ah, I got it.
Click the download on the right hand side of the screen not the gadget title next to the screen shot. The correct tab to click is on the right side of the screen like I said, looks like this: Download

Then extract exactly as instructed.
I had to use extractnow since it allowed a more precise target.

Unfortunately due to it falling into disuse and a couple security holes, they stopped including the sidebar engine with 8/8.1 and 10 appears to leave it out as well.

I may have missed it, but I noticed there is an actual background graphic. I know that I can change it, by replacing it with another graphic of the same size and file name. I was just wondering is there was a way to cycle through several graphic background choices. This is not a request for changes to the code. I have an aversion to looking gift horses in the mouth.

All this talk about modifying this gadget and nobody can say how to change 1 title on it?? Fuck this site and fuck computer programming language. Computer language is worse than punjabi pakci fucking hindu language. If making a gadget why not make it so the letters didn't overlap in the first place? This is BULLSHIT.

Does anyone know what file and area it is that lets you change names? I have the overlapping recycle bin name issue as well but want to change it to "trash". I'm thinking it would be in the js file called main but any changes I make to anything in there recycle related are not taking affect.

Sorry man, I haven't been on much, and haven't been using the gadget as much as I dug it when I updated it, now I'm on Win8 and just use the metro UI stuff. So I haven't even seen the code for that thing since forever ago. I'd help if I were still using the Vista/7 gadgets... but I'm not. I just converted this to english the best I could manage in hopes someone might get use out of it. As far as all the fuck this, fuck that, man, wtf? Not like I'm charging for the damned thing. Get over it already.

I can see the difference between the original and the one posted below and the difference between Recyle Bin and just Bin but I want to change this to my own title.

Hey, I finished the translation. Also I changed the "Recycle Bin" title to just, "Bin" to prevent the letter and numbers from overlapping.
Currently I'm getting help to get rid of the bug in the WiFi setting not to save when you refresh the gadget by double-clicking. Any way this is it.

Unfortunately, as I noted in the description. I didn't write the code, I just edited the language back to English from Chinese. So, I'm sorry but I won't be doing any changes to the gadget itself.

I like it. But every time I click on it to bring up the calendar, the wi-fi details turns on and it is still in Chinese.

Hmm... I thought I'd caught all of the Chinese in there... Probably missed that since I don't actually have a PC with Wi-Fi on it - though I did convert a LOT of Wi-Fi text in the various scripts. Maybe I'll give it a once-over if I get some time and see what I missed. Thanks for letting me know. As to the click locations, I only edited the formatting and language. *shrug* there may be a place to click for calendar near where you're clicking but not exactly where you expect? I'd try it. lol
