Description
The secret expedition had turned up a hidden prophecy, one the Clan had not been privy of sooner. The word spread quickly through the Clan, and every cat, even those who had not gone in secret to the Moonpool, learned of the ominous message. Yet no cat really knew what it meant, but they meant to figure it out.Despite it being well past moonhigh, the entire Clan was discussing the message with great fervor.
Over the chaos, the leaders stood up to speak.
Lightningstar declared, "The prophecy is clear! The outsiders bring danger. MountainClan, kittypets. We shall not let ourselves suffer them."
Redstorm spat, "What of cats who aren't Clan-born? Are they threats too, Lightningstar? Would you not suffer them? I say we find the kittypet still, and see what she knows. There are lies rooted deep in this Clan. StarClan warns us. Softbird was only the start if we do not figure it out."
Cloudsong cried out, "Brothers! Sisters! Kin! We don't know the whole of the prophecy, nor what it means. Let's not jump to conclusions. Oh, mouse dung, now look at this mess of a Clan."
"Discussion is not a mess," Redstorm snarled.
"Enough!" Lightningstar growls. "I am leader, and I say if we must engage in a discussion, however pointless, we shall do it in an orderly fasion!
Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the highrock for a Clan meeting! We shall discuss this prophecy, and the search for the traitor."
Things have gotten messy.

RESPOND TO THIS COMMENT TO DISCUSS THE SITUATION.
- Your response will earn your cat 1-3 Intelligence per reply. You may get up to five total points maximum from this event.
- Your replies can be as short as one line, such as an "I agree", or as long as several paragraphs.
- Responses will be measured by quality, length, and how in-character the analysis is. Cats with low intelligence will likely not be able to come up with a masterful theory or banter philosophy, but they can still think and feel and hold an opinion.
- You may respond to as many cats as you'd like. Each response will bring a reward, until your cat has earned five.
- Mentioning other player's cats is nice, but nets no bonuses. Roleplays, however, are acceptable, and this kind of collaboration can earn yourself and the other player points as well. (Each role-play reply, as long as it is relevant to the discussions, will be treated as a normal reply).
- You may speak freely, as crowds combined with darkness bring a degree of anonymity. Do not worry about offending other cats (in-story, that is). This includes NPC cats and other player's characters.
- As is, replies to the main comment will be like standing up and directly speaking your mind to Lightningstar's meeting.
- Replies to other players would be your cat in the crowd calling out their reaction, unless you choose to write otherwise (such as having your cat approach the other players and talk face-to-face)

Wasppaw | Apprentice
Scuffing at the dust with paws tipped with white, Wasppaw forced back a chittered reproach towards his Clanmates' blind faith in cats he was not sure existed. In any case, they had done him no good, and what was omnipotence for if not for that? The tabby apprentice liked to think that he had always had his doubts, but that wasn't quite true; indeed, as a kit he had been as avid a believer as any of his Clanmates. He had kept his dwindling faith to himself, reluctant to talk about what had sparked it in one so young, and told nobody once it had left him completely. That suited him just fine.
"Are we entirely sure here that StarCl- that our /medicine cats/ have got it right? I mean, I know we couldn't piece it all together properly, but what of the other risks? Mishearing? Are we really going to send our cats into the wilderness on the word of a select few? Whether we can afford being without our warriors is another matter, too. I'm only an apprentice, but I'm staying right where I am, no matter what StarClan says." While far fuller than was ordinary for him, his voice was cautious as he picked around the topic. Strong as his sudden reservations were, letting his reasons for them be known simply wouldn't do at all. It often seemed to him that religion was the be-all and end-all of Clan life, StarClan and the Code being what made his Clan a Clan. Openly taking issue with that may not work well for him as far as he knew and, frankly, it was his business and they didn't need to know.

Lilacbloom || Warrior
Mentions:
Lynxclaw belongs to Zuko-Kitty
Dapplepaw belongs to DeeDiamond1
Softfeather belongs to coldioc
Nightflame belongs to Aowna
Soon, after the announcement, Lilacbloom sat with Dapplepaw and Lynxclaw, quiet and listening to the mutters of those around her. After some time she finally spoke up.
"I don't like this, why did this need to happen," she choked.
"I don't think anyone does," Lynxclaw said. Dapplepaw looked away, sadness in her gaze before nodding in agreement.
"Lightningstar's our leader, I want to trust him without doubt but..." Lilacbloom trailed off for a moment, before sighing and continuing, "I don't want to admit it but I think Lightningstar's acting rashly, he says that the outsiders will bring danger but the prophecy said they would also bring love too, is he really going to ignore that?" She murmured, ears flat and back hunched.
"And everyone knows that Starclan was disturbed, loud winds broke up words and made them hard to distinguish. Everyone's making assumptions and with Softbird's death little cats are thinking rationally, I'm not thinking rationally."
A sob escaped her, stress from the past few days weighing so heavily on her shoulders and mind.
"I just want this to be over, to be solved without anymore bloodshed, I want to help everyone so bad, Softbird, you two, Softfeather, Nightflame, everyone else in the clan and even Drakyn. I want to unveil the truth, I want to be useful, I... I want to prove myself to the clan." Lilacbloom let out a strained smile, mulling over everything.
"If I go on the journey then I can do all that, yet I'm scared, so, so scared, of the unknown and unexplored. But then more and more cats started to volunteer and suddenly I realised, I couldn't afford to be cowardly anymore, to hide behind others, I'm a warrior now, I need to overcome my fear and become stronger, smarter, braver."
Lilacbloom stood up and paced. Lynxclaw and Dapplepaw both said their separate comforts, as they gave their opinions, slowly her anxiety faded and she resolved herself.
"I think... no, I will volunteer to go, I believe I can do this and I will try my best,"
She turned towards Lightningstar, "I would like to go," Lilacbloom stated. A pit was forming before her paws, but she needed to be brave. For the clan, for Softbird, for herself.

Brackenburr- Warrior
//Continuing off of 's //
Brackenburr watched Poppysplash pad over to the medicine cat den, sighing softly as they stood. "I'm sure that Drakyn didn't kill Softbird, but she would surely know something- something that could tell us who killed our beloved elder! We shouldn't send too many cats on a patrol. With Mountainclan threatening us, we'll need cats here to protect our kits and elders."
Their ears flicked up at Lightningstar and Redstorm, who glared down at the cats below them, listening to every cat thoughtfully and carefully. The mottled cat cleared their throat as they felt their words lump up. Don't get nervous. They are your clanmates, they are here to protect and help you, Brackenburr told themself silently, shifting their paws."We mustn't fight amungst each other. We are a clan! We will work together and find out the prophecy and the infamous murderer, and no outsider nor clan can break up apart!"

Owlbriar | Warrior
Owlbriar still didn't want to believe that Drakyn intended on hurting the clan, but it was seeming more and more likely as the clan's arguments screeched in her ears. The part of the prophecy she heard "outsi....bring despair" did nothing to ease her worries either. Still...Drakyn was untrained and weak. She could barely even hunt, even after Owlbriar had shown her how. There was no way she'd know to cover her scent if she didn't want to be caught. A cat that...challenged couldn't possibly have killed Softbird, even if Softbird was an elder. It had to have been a Mountainclan cat or maybe even a rogue. They would know how to cover their tracks. But her thoughts kept circling back to Drakyn. What if some cat had assisted her? Owlbriar shook her head. No, that would be ridiculous. Moutainclan must have did this. But still, Drakyn may have information...
Suddenly, the meeting's volume grew far too loud for her to bear anymore. She dashed out of the camp, seeking peace and quiet to clear her mind. Besides, even as the clan fought, someone would still need to hunt for food, and nothing was a better distraction.

Quailpaw | Apprentice
Quailpaw stood silently; watching the large crowd of cats yowling and hissing, she pondered over the words of StarClan, and Lightningstar and Redstorm. There was still a thought in her mind that kept circling around in her mind: that kittypet who left. Should she go with the patrol,or stay and discuss the matter? Either way, nobody would really take her seriously as an apprentice. Still contemplating that question, she stalked over to the group having a discussion, or rather argument. She squeezed past the others to the centre of the group, still hissing under her breath, and added her voice to the rest of the cats. "I agree with Redstorm! The kittypet may have seen something that will help us investigate. One of the lines appears to be 'an outsider to bring repair', does it not?"
With narrowed eyes and flattened ears, she growled and turned away, lashing her tail.

Lynxclaw | Warrior
With all the shouting going on around him, Lynxclaw was at a slight loss as to what to do. It was such a short time from when he had gone with Birchstrike to uncover the truth- neither had expected such an earth-shaking prophecy... The tabby shuddered at the memory, the flashing lights, the screams in the howling wind, the darkness that threatened to consume them both... Snapping back into reality, Lynxclaw could barely hear Lightningstar and Redstorm through the noise, straining for a simple sentence. He could tell that Lightningstar was advocating for the physical aspect- no outsiders. Redstorm though was arguing that the clan should look for Drakyn, and Lynxclaw agreed. While the prophecy was saying an outsider would bring destruction, it also said that "an outsider to bring repair and love", and that was something Stormclan really needed. What if Drakyn was the outsider to bring it? Lynxclaw's ears flattened in frustration, the prophecy was complex and what if someone heard a line wrong? Earlier when Lynxclaw and Birchstrike had met with the other medicine cats and their warriors, putting the prophecy together bit by bit was shaky at best, some lines repeated words and phrases. Starclan, they didn't even fully piece together the last line!
Something that did stand out though was "there is a stranger among us when lightning strikes,"- was it referring to Lightningstar? Afterall, the tom had brought Drakyn, a stranger, into the clan. It was something to ponder about, Lynxclaw decided. There were other parts of the prophecy that interested the young warrior as well- the line right after, for example. "It shall bring forth a mighty storm stained with red," he whispered, testing the line out. Red.... A storm or red... Redstorm! Lynxclaw realized, eyes flashing to look at the strong-willed deputy. But, was he right? It could mean blood would be spilled, or that the stranger that came with lightning would cause death. Pushing that line to the side, Lynxclaw continued to think the prophecy out in his head. Cats were still loud and wild, the prophecy was scaring everyone. Shaking his head, Lynxclaw tried to focus. He had no idea about the fourth line- "white rooted deep"? Where did someone start with that? "Soft born swept away by a hurricane of lies" was next, and he already had an idea- had it since it was uttered at the meeting. "Soft" was most likely referring to Softbird, who had been killed- swept away from the world of the living. But the lies? Someone was lying, and Lynxclaw knew that the lies would come to surface soon.
The rest was about lies and two outsiders, one to bring good and the other to bring bad. What Lightningstar had said earlier gave Lynxclaw an idea, what if Mountainclan was the danger, and Drakyn was the bringer of good? The fawn tabby knew that it was extremely shakey and had no facts to back it up, but he couldn't help but think it. Once more brought out of his thinking, he heard the call for open discussion with Lightningstar. "Lightningstar," he called out, making his way through the crowd. Cats parted for him, knowing that he probably had a valid point to bring up- he wouldn't speak otherwise. "While I agree that we should be guarded against strangers, the prophecy does say that a stranger will bring repair and love, I think the clan should have an open mind when it comes to a foreigner," the warrior stated, keeping steady eye contact with the other tom. "We can't be sure what the prophecy fully means, making assumptions now would be idiotic and would most certainly come back to bite us," he pressed, wanting to make his point. "I think it's best to try and make sense of the prophecy and look into things such as out past and our clanmates before making conclusions that are based only on split-second decisions and assumptions."

Barkwhisker | Warrior
Barkwhisker froze as she heard Lightningstar’s harsh words. She wasn’t clan-born, could Lightningstar want to get rid of her? No, that wasn’t a possibility. Her breathing pattern had become ragged, and her heartbeat soared. Calm, be calm, she chanted in her mind. She hadn’t been taught to keep her emotions at bay for nothing, had she? He wouldn’t be proud is he saw her now, he’d probably scold her for losing control of her feelings. She exhaled a ragged sigh, and gathered the courage to speak.
“This will end badly. No matter what happens, I feel the outcome of the search party will be bad.” She said, her voice shaking slightly. Her voice was quiet, only a couple around her heard it. She closed her eyes, wrapping her tail around her trembling paws. I just wish Lightningstar would be calmer about the situation. If only Gray was here currently… She thought sadly. She missed the old tom, she wanted to go back and tell her about the clans. But that couldn’t happen, he’s most likely dead. She gathered the courage to speak again, using her lessons with Clay at her advantage.
"We needn't blame a cat when we had no evidence to hold against her!" She said , "Also, we have a bigger threat rising, Mountainclan. Our rival is growing larger and more of a threat than ever!"She had stood up before she spoke, drawing little attention, because of how small she is. Her voice, on the other hand, was loud. It was strange that a small cat could make that loud of a noise.
She huffed and sat back down. Why in Starclan am I being so moody today?! She lashed her tail, she held a light scowl on her face after her sudden change in tone.

"Think before you fight!" Pigeonheart yowled, unafraid of their leader. "There are clan-born cats that have done worse than kill one elder! And there are outsiders who have done great things for the clan!" They lashed their tail, frustrated that all the clan wanted to do was kill. "If you go and kill any outsider you see, you're no better than the cat who killed Softbird." The silver tabby shot a furious glance around the clearing, and stepped out of the crowd. Pigeonheart sat just inside the entrance to the medicine den, making sure they could still hear the clan.

Dawnspark | Warrior
Dawnspark was scared. She was scared and angry and frustrated and she had never felt more helpless. Nothing had made her happier to be in a clan than the feeling of fellowship, standing up for and with each other, and now it seemed like it was all falling apart. She felt heat rushing to her face and chest making it hard to breath as she watched everything she had ever cared about slowly crumbling. Finally she couldn't just watch anymore.
"Are we really going to let this tear us apart? We can't fall apart now, Mountainclan would take any opportunity to strike." He voice was desperate and angry trying to make anyone listen. "I heard the prophecy too, but you're forgetting an important part. I thought about what I heared, and while it did hint to an outside bringing distruction, but what about the other part? 'An outsider will bring love.' What if we have the wrong cat?"
She watched as a group of people gathered for a patrol to hunt down Drakyn, and she began to think back to the first time meeting the kittypet. She had seemed so cuirous and innocent. Dawnspark wanted to go along, if only to make sure that they didn't kill her on sight. But logic told her to stay. If it was a search party, a half blind warrior wouldn't be much help, besides she felt the need to stay and make sure that those still in camp wouldn't tear themselves apart. So she walked towards Lightningstar.
"I intend to stay in camp, I want to help sort out this mess." She said her voice still wavering.

Poppysplash l Medicine Cat
Poppysplash was.. tired to say the least, her normal bright green eyes dull and lacking the normal shimmer of compassion that the she-cat seemed to have so much of. Currently nestled next to her friend, Brackenburr, the brown-and-white feline couldn't help but subconsciously lean on the mottled ginger as she seemed to drift off to a light sleep-- Only to be jolted awake again and shake her head to rid of the lingering dots of exhaustion. Ever since the Moonpool, the feline's sleeping schedule hadn't been the past. Plagued by what-if's and nightmares, she wasn't quite able to.. do much to contribute to the conversation. It even took some moments before the she-cat seemed to realize there was even a discussion going on.
Snapping back to the conversation as each cat chimed in, there seemed to be a moment where those green eyes shown under a darker hue. Namely at the 'Not Clan-born' comment. Was there.. Honestly the she-cat wasn't sure if she was Clan-born because she never really ended up seeing, or knowing, her mother and father. Of course she was a kit long ago, even an apprentice, but the memories of everything else? Foggy. Clouded. Was she Clan-born?
Stiffling a shiver that caused her fur to raise, there was a side glance given to Brackenburr at her side, a soft purr escaping her throat almost as a word of silent assurance. Her white-faced head rose, and with it came a tired but firm mew, "I wish to attend the patrol as well, kittypet or not there are many dangers that could easily harm or even kill a cat. I will offer my knowledge of herbs to the patrol as well as my claws and fangs." With a glance to her companion, Poppysplash stood and padded to the medicine den, most likely preparing herb bundles for the future travel ahead.

Dapplepaw || Apprentice
Dapplepaw raised her head up as she felt a shove from behind and then another from the left. The right. Every cat was standing up and shoving the other cats around to be called upon by Lightningstar for the discussion. The others were making their way slowly through the crowd to join with Redstorm. Dapplepaw then started slinking through the crowds, thanking StarClan for her small size to listen in and try so see what could sway her.
When she neared Lightningstar's group she noticed they were starting to argue amongst themselves. She sighed, unsure where she belonged. Dapplepaw sat down outside the apprentices den, and looked up as the sun slowly started to set. Her eyelids started to droop and she left sleep overcome her.
She blinked her eyes open, and recognized that she was where Duskpaw had died. No cat emerged from the trees. No fox from the den. She was alone. Dapple thought to herself, 'am I even supposed to be alone in my dreams?' Her long fur tuft got over her right eye and she flicked it back over to her left. It covered what she didn't want her clan mates to know. Her eye. It was blind, it had always been, and Duskpaw... he used to give any apprentice who noticed the DDG. The Duskpaw Death Glare. Her brother always stood up for her and gave her the idea to hide it so it wouldn't be noticed by other clan mates.
Dapplepaw looked up when she noticed movement on a star from above. Her brother started to form into the air. "Duskpaw...? Duskpaw!" Dapplepaw ran forward to meet him as he arrived on the soft green grass. He wrapped his head around her neck as Dapple rubbed her cheek on the side of his head. "Duskpaw... oh Duskpaw..." he purred playfully. "I'm Duskheart now, Dapplepaw. Starclan gave me my warrior name." Heart. Love. That's what Dapplepaw was feeling then. Love for her brother. She wished this moment would never end.
But all good things come to an end. Duskheart moved on to all seriousness now. "Those warriors would kill Drakyn Dapplepaw." He mewed, pulling away from their embrace. "You have to stop them. Go with them!" His voice was growing more faint by the second. The wind was blowing toward Dapplepaw, and the fur was blown back from her eye, revealing the milky blue that her blind eye held different. "D-D-Don't leave me!" She started with her usual stuttering. "Duskheart!" Duskheart smiled at her and blinked out of the dream just as Dapplepaw woke up.
She stood, unstable, and quickly caught her balance. Dapplepaw walked past Lightningstar and toward Redstorm. 'This is for you, Duskheart.' She muttered to herself.
"I-I'd like to c-c-come.." she mewed

Dewdrop | Warrior | CookieBab
Dewdrop couldn't take the yowls of anger and distress of her clan. Redstrom was willing to hunt Drakyn down which Dewdrop also wanted to do. SHe wanted to claw her ears off and demand her to tell her why she murdered Softbird!
The she-cat stood and interrupted Redstorm. "I volunteer to hunt that traitorous fox-heart down and demand answers!" she snarled, her neck fur rising and her claws scraped the earth. The crowd grew silent before a couple of yowls of agreement destroyed the silence. Lightningstar looked as if he was about to stop her but she gave him a piercing stare before leaping onto the rock and faced her leader.
"I will not let Softbird die in vain! That soft wuss of a kittypet must be stopped! If they did kill Softbird I want her to suffer!" more yowls of agreement came from the cats below as Dewdrop continued. "My mind is not just full of rage Lightningstar," she said as she saw the tom begin to bristle as Dewdrop talked of revenge "no, I want to question her before I bring her harm. I'm not a rogue and I don't act before I think. You know me."
Suddenly a cat from below spoke - the identity couldn't be pinpointed. "With what Redstrom said, doesn't that mean we shouldn't trust Dewdrop? She's not clan born."
Dewdrop twisted her head to the group and scanned the clearing to see who spoke but couldn't identify them.
"Say that again! I dare you!" she unsheathed her claws once more.
"Dewdrop calm down!" Lightningstar hissed. "You are still grieving which is making you lose control of your emotions. Settle down, and listen!" the tom walked closer to the edge of the rock and began to speak, his voice booming across the clearing.
"Everyone listen! I will send a patrol after Drakyn. Redstorm will lead it, cats who do not want to go may stay here and try to figure out the prophecy we were sent from Starclan."
Lightningstar jumped down and padded to the center of the hollow. He drew a small line with his claw and beckoned Redstrom to stand on one side.
"The side Redstorm is on is the patrol, the side I am on is the prophecy. Choose where you wish to go."
Dewdrop leaped towards Redstorm and skidded to a halt in the half to hunt for Drakyn. Quite a few cats padded over to the two she-cats. Including Finchkit.
"No, Finchkit, you can't come you're too young. Please stay here" Dewdrop insisted, nudging her towards the other half. But the little she-kit was persistent and refused, pushing back against her mother.
"I want to know what happened to Softbird! I'm coming! I'm almost six moons now!"
Dewdrop didn't know what to do. Finchkit was almost the age of an apprentice, should she let her come? It wouldn't be that dangerous to find a kittypet, right? Dewdrop sighed and gave her a lick on her ear.
"Fine. But you are to stay close to me and not wander off or I'll bring you straight back." the kit nodded and the group who were going to find Drakyn stood and prepared themselves for the journey.
Revenge would come soon.

Slatepool | Warrior | Warrior-Heart127
Slatepool knew from the pit of her gut that there was no way the kittypet was guilty of anything that happened to Softbird. There just wasn't enough evidence of anything to put her in the position of the killer--and she felt like it was her duty to come along and make sure the other members of the patrol knew that as well. She didn't want anything to happen to an innocent cat, and she wouldn't be afraid to back up her opinions with her claws.
She called out to Lightningstar, "I wish to attend the search patrol. I don't want the patrol to turn into a hunt: I want this to be fair and calm--not a search-and-destroy mission for a cat who's likely innocent." She waved her tail for emphasis. "And what's more is that we need to be more careful about who the real killer is. Everyone's too busy blaming Drakyn, when MountainClan is close on our heels and ready to attack at any moment." She concluded pointedly, "Someone needs to keep everyone's tempers under control."

RESPOND TO THIS COMMENT IF YOU INTEND TO JOIN THE SEARCH PATROL FOR DRAKYN
Keep in mind that choosing to do this is highly dangerous, and there's the very real threat of death. If your cats fail, this may put the whole Clan in jeopardy.
But the rewards are great, and your cats may get boosts in strength, spirit, AND intelligence if you enter.
A maximum of twenty cats may choose to go. At least ten is the recommended party size.

Ravenpool | Warrior | Female
Her ears rang with the words of her leader. Doubt flashed in the females blue eyes. The she-cat's black pelt was waving in the wind, and the night brought coldness.
"Lightiningstar I might not always agree with you, including now, but you are my leader. That means I will listen to you. I volunteer to go on a patrol to find that filthy traitor!" Ravenpool spat out the last part, hating the word traitor. She heard other murmurs of agreements some shouts like her words. Some more cats had offered to go on the patrol too, and she sat down, satisfied.

Redfur | Warrior
A small , brown-reddish she-cat lashed her tail. "Could i go?" she asked stubbornly. She held her chin high , and her green eyes held literally nothing. Redfur pricked her big ears , waiting for an answer while grooming her tabby pelt. "Besides , i'm pretty strong and swift." added Redfur , tensing her muscular body , still waiting for a reply.

"I'll go on the search."
She knew all too well that if she stuck around here to discuss the prophecy, she could very well fall under constant anxiety if big points came her way. She wasn't positive that Drakyn was the one who killed Softbird, but she wanted to know if she-cat knew anything about it.
And if Drakyn was innocent, there would have to be someone in the right mind to protect her if one of these angry cats didn't care.

Brackenburr- Warrior
The mottled cat stood up beside Poppysplash, "I wish to attend the patrol. After all, I'm pretty clever, I could help." They glanced over at the brown and white cat beside them, smiling, "I'm going wherever you're going."

Poppysplash - Medicine Cat
There was a soft, tiredly kind look in the mottled ginger's direction. A purr rose from her throat, "I'd prefer it no other way."

Spruceclaw - Warrior
The massive tabby tom gets up on his four paws, his eyes frowning of willingness. He could not just stay here, waiting for everything to get fixed. No way.
''The death of one of our cats is something that we cannot tolerate, especially elders. He starts in a deep tone.
The little plump kittypet must know something about the death of Softbird. We must find her. And this is for me to do, along with other cats.''

"I volunteer to search for Drakyn," the fawn tabby called out, wanting to find out what exactly was going on. He needed facts and truths, not some accusations and guesses that had no facts to back them up.

GrayStorm/warrior
He heard the arguments over the prophecy. He was to stressed about it, too many options for what it could possibly be. He heard about the patrol to search for Drakyn. That. That is something he can do. He walked forward from the group of cats at Highrock. " I volunteer to search for the Kittypet, she may have the answers that we seek."
( if there is still space may he go? :3 )

Fluffheart-Warrior
Fluffheart is too distressed by the yelling to discuss the prophecy, she also is rather disturbed by what she saw. Fluffheart wants to make sure the kittypet is safe and will be willing to defend her from hostile clan mates.
