Home Grown Show - RESULTS!

Risky shook her head and scratched her nose on her knee. She grunted and snorted, letting a loud fart sound off at the same time. Might as well clear the pipes. She swished her tail gently and cocked a hind foot with a heavy sigh. The look of a true...horse.
Ty watched the video back on his phone, smiling softly. He had long dropped the reins on Risky’s neck, letting her shuffle underneath him. She wasn’t going to run off anywhere; he trusted her. It wasn’t like there was anyone else out at this time of day anyway. Not since about an hour ago. Ty stayed, waiting for the arenas to clear for his chance to film Risky on his phone in her element! Showjumping extraordinaire!
Ty chuckled, setting his phone back on the railing he had it propped on and pressing record. “Okay, that one was pretty cool. You looked stellar, Riskers. But maybe one more just in case?”
Risky dragged her toes through the sand lazily, plodding along the railing. She lumbered into a trot and finally rolled into a canter. She didn’t look like a horse that enjoyed her job on the outside but she made no fuss heading right back into their jumping course for the third time already. Another grunt, heave, and plop onto the other side and repeat.
Ty cruised through the course, feeling Risky was quite herself that evening. Especially when she refused to swap leads and just bull through a sharp turn. Maybe it wasn’t so smooth on his ride but that’s the lead she liked so he didn’t bother trying to correct her. She was a mare that knew her job and took great offense if she was told otherwise. All she wanted to know was which fence and how fast. She could handle the rest herself.
Ty laughed, letting her drop into a slinky trot that melted into a stretched out walk. He patted her neck, “Dang Riskers, I think that round was even better! Look at you be a limber lady. Careful, a stud might overhear,” he laughed again. He let her stop and stand while he watched the footage on his phone again. He was right! She looked awesome! And a good time on that run! “Dude, you are killing it today. Someone slip you some alfalfa or what? You know, I think I blinked in a couple of frames, we should totally reshoot. Just one more time. It was my bad.” He scratched his fingers up and down her neck, ruffling her scraggly mane.
Just...a little while longer.
He hit record on his phone again and led Risky to the course for another go at it. A brilliant hue across the lake caught Ty’s attention. The sun was parting ways with the day, a final goodbye. Guess it was getting late… “We’ll make it a quick one,” Ty said as the overhead lights came on, illuminating up the arena. One of the remaining staff members must have seen him out there.
And fast they made their rounds! Each jump just felt better than the one behind it! Or maybe the truth was...Ty cherished the next one a little more than the one before it. He’d hate to think of Risky as a sunset. Were her rays dipping below the horizon too?
Ty patted her neck in silence after that go. She did really well as he thought she always did. It probably wasn’t the better round from his recordings. But he’d still keep it no matter-
Memory full.
Ty stared at his phone’s screen in silence. He replayed the four seconds of him walking Risky out of frame, a pause of nothing but the distant jumps and then it cut off where it had run out of storage space. He hung his head, smiling through his loss of a nice recording. Even if he had the other ones before it, they weren’t her last few jumps just then.
He sighed, pocketing his phone and looking over the course. He didn’t feel done. He had what he needed for the show but… He glanced up to the stars poking out of the sky. A clear night with hundreds of tiny little sparkling dots. Did anyone even know when one of them stopped shining? There were so many… how did any of them stand out against the others in such a crowd...
“Riskers, I think I’m getting old. I just had the deepest feels a feel could go. Can we go… just one more time…” he asked her softly. “I promise.”
And she trudged onto the course again, just as she had every time before. She wasn’t bitter nor resentful. This was her job. And Ty felt she was in her true element; jumping under the spotlights. Among the stars she outshone.

Originally, I had planned to do a sort of lit up jumps with some neato lights on it or something to get the cool underglow. But then I had a thought of this super simple approach where less is more. I don't have to show the arena light for there to be light coming from above. I don't have to show the puddle of water under the jump reflecting the light and sky back up on Risky's belly. I don't have to show the rest of the jump I never even thought up xD
I wanted the focus to be the lad and his pony, so I took everything else away.
ARTISTIC DECISIONS.
It was a fun process to get here <3

I did tryhard mode on the Abigail entry , this was a chill piece <3
Just wanted to include Ty in some show stuff with Risky because they are good souls (and I'm still in the process of salvaging my other good souls in other story lines x''D)
