Description Okay, lately I've been trying to alter my style and attempt digital painting because I feel I haven't posted anything actually "polished" in my gallery. Now that I look back on it...seriously, what was I thinking?

The point of this post is to basically get CRITIQUE. I BEG YOU GUYS!!!!
Digital painting is something I've been trying to practice but have never fully succeeded with.
Any tips on how to blend, smoothen shading, etc?
Also, I know the lighting is wonky, so please: try to tell me how to fix this D:
Please also point out any and all errors that you see, I'm accepting all criticism.

In other words: HIT ME! >=o

If you couldn't tell, the light source is supposed to be coming from that big, white, glowy thing in the upper right corner (AKA the Moon, or a sad depiction of one )
Aaaaand, I felt like drawing a werewolf-ish guy, so that's what he is (or is supposed to be).

Will be moved to scraps once I feel I am sufficiently critiqued

Ok, I'm not going to say anything about the fact that I can't paint digitally because I'm sure you've heard a lot of that already, so I shall spare you. However, my tips on coloring will be very limited, and so I apologize for that.

I'll start of with the basic drawing first though, and then go on to the coloring.
His nose and mouth look crooked; we're looking at him from slightly below, right? The way to fix the nose is to draw the other nostril while keeping that in mind. Also, even though I love his mouth and the styling of it, it is cooked. Just nudge the left (his right) side of his mouth so that curls around the face more, if that makes any sense. That way, you can keep that lovely smirk and make it look more correct at the same time.
The other way to fix this is to fix his head/face, and not the expression. You could nudge it over to the right side of the picture to make it look like we are looking at him from below right, and not below-in-front. However, that's up to you, so do whatever you think looks best/is easiest.

I like the coloring so far, although since the lighting is coming from the moon, I think it is too dark. Most of the coloring should be lightish, with only a limited amount of dark shading, since the moon is above and when full, is very bright.

Well, I hope everything I've said helps, and I hope it doesn't come off as too harsh. I don't mean to be. ^^

Your style is beautiful and easily converted, per say, into digital painting..or at least it look very natural. You are doing awesome thus far! The only suggestion I can think of offhand is the use of contrast. What makes a painting morethanoften look 'real' is contrast. Highlight the areas with the most concentration, such as the facial features [eyes, nose, and mouth] with tiny spots of white and work your color highlights and lowlights around the area from there. Also, remember to choose a lighting source so you can appropriate the source of the lighting.

In this picture in particular, the moon or streetlight above seems to be your lighting source. The little gleam on the nose is a light touch, and play off that portion of the picture. The brown hair you could possibly be reduced to almost white at the most vibrantly illuminated parts. The shadow at the furthest side of the face should, in contrast to the whitest reaches, be faded to almost black. Play with the color pallets as well! Since white light is 'all' the colors in the spectrum, often artists use unexpected pops of color, not just what is 'seen', per say, but combinations of purples, reds, everything!

I'm no connoisseur of digital painting, but I hope this has helped! You have some serious talent, and it's awesome that you keep an open mind when it comes to your style, not to mention have the guts to try new things with your work. Your work is beautiful, and I hope to see more! Cheerz!!!!htmlrulzdoooood!

OMG THIS LOOKS SO COOL D8 I hope you finish soon!

I can't paint so my hints will mean nothing, but maybe use random colors like purple or green ( you look like you have some green already). It can give the skin a more realistic look, usually. I'm pretty bad with lighting, though, so I'm not much help. D;

I really like your style! Honestly!
Polished-ness comes with practice, and while I am no expert on digital painting myself, all I can recommend are tutorials and reference pics. *makani has an EXCELLENT bunch of tutorials in her collection. Go have a looksee!

I'm not really good at critiqing digital painting, 'cause I'm really no good at it either There's one tutorial I really like. The artist has both a digital painting and a painting skin tutorial. If you haven't seen them before, It's a really original way (and quite good) of doing it.

you actually don't need too much. Your skin coloring skills are quite exquisite. As for coloring clothing, I still have yet to see what you can do
