Description
Food groups is a concept I have been developing as an exercise in character design. The story takes place in a world where each food group is represented by a nation.

In all the world, no two races have as little respect for each other than the fun loving Candy People and the hard working Vegetable people. Tensions have always been high between the two nations. But when the young candy princess Eclair Buttercream was kidnapped, supposedly by Vegetable bandits, war seemed imminent.

However, Eclair was soon rescued by the world traveler Cherry Berry. The two girls were able to escape to safety and hired Guardsman Kale Romain as protection on the long journey to return the princess home. The story follows their adventures traveling form nation to nation, hiding from pursuers, meeting new friends and trying to find understanding between troubled nations. Together the three must overcome their obstacles and return the princess before war can break out!

Eclair is bossy. She loves being the center of attention and cannot put up with being told what to do. She is constantly at odds with kale, who is essentially the polar opposite of her. Kale is earnest and tries hard. His love for his country prompts him to put aside his prejudices and protect an "enemy" in order to avoid pointless war. Throughout the journey, Kale learns to be more laid back and accepting, while Eclair learns to take things more seriously and to be more empathetic. Cherry is rather mature for her age. She's been traveling the world for a year now, studying the nations and their people and hopes to one day write a book about everything she's learned. Her sense of direction is impeccable, but she has issues staying in one place for too long. Her guidance is key to the success of their journey.
