Even when it was tiresome, Carol was a captain, and she had gone toe-to-toe with Monica in this state, but instead of mercy and love, it was ruthlessness and hate, as Carol after pushing Rogue off her, went in with a burning right hook and caught Rogue on the head, causing her to spin around and dropped to her knees,(picture above) where Carol took it by going in for the arm chokehold, gripping her left arm over Rogue, much to her rival's dismay and fear as she tried to pry it off her, but to prevail, as their massive manes flew in the wind, Carol gritted her teeth as she heard Rogue moan and groaned...begging her to "Don't kill me, my god." As Rogue tried to stay awake from the hold, but held it tighter and tighter till finally Rogue's strong arms dropped and her eyes close shut, dropping facefirst into the dirt ground, unconscious, as Carol got up, she raised her arms up, despite the pain, a sign of her most impressive victory in her life.

As she looked down at the Southern belle, instead of walking away, Carol felt a twinge of guilt but respect came over her, as slowly, she carried Rogue over her shoulders and walked towards the edge of the arena...ready to not redo the tragic events she had experienced.

Later...

Rogue woke up with a gasp, as she looked around, she found herself in the Xavier Mansion's medical room, much to her surprise. "W-What--where---how?" She tried to say, but then winced as she tried to get up, feeling it from the sides of her stomach and right arm. "Easy, there, Anne, you're still injured." Said a gruff voice she recognized, and she saw at the door, was her old pal Wolverine, who was leaning at a wall, cowboy hat tipped down, and on a nearby chair was the blue genius himself, Beast, playing with a Rubik's cube. "Rogue, you're awake, my stars and garters, thank goodness you're okay." He said, as he rose up to hold Rogue's hand, smiling his sharp teeth as Rogue wanted to ask the first question on her mind. "Wha-What happened? Why am I here?" She said, and Beast answered. "Oh, dear Rogue, it seems that you and Carol had bit of a spat from what I heard." He said, fidgeting with the cube, as Anne looked on with shock and amazement, as she got up from the bed and proceed to walk towards the door, with Logan helping her out to ease the pain till they reached the nearest elevator. "Take your time Anne, Carol's still here, but after the beatdown you got, I think it's going to be awkward, bub." He said as they went to the elevator, where Rogue could hear some distant voices of Charles Xavier, Emma Frost, and Carol Danvers, but she could managed to hear what they're saying as she leaned against a wall."

X-"So...even after all those rumors, why did you brought Rogue to us instead of leaving her back there?"

Carol signed as she slide her hands on her hips. "Well, Professor, it's just that....I'm a changed woman and a reformed captain, that feud between me and Rogue was a long time ago, and that it's not even relevant to my life now, and besides, she and Jessica were the ones by my side after I left the Avengers for a while, and honestly, I realized something before I sent that mail...that even that some people believe that if I were to god knows like "kill" Rogue...then I will be no better than any mutant hater, fascist, or any evil empire in space...and to be frank, I always had a support for mutants ever since working with you guys." She said, showing a faint smile.

Emma then placed a hand on Carol's shoulder. "I'm impressed that you are a new woman from the last time we saw you, and I'm happy to know that you dropped that feud...because frankly, like my old feud with Jean...it was kind of overrated for my taste." She said, as she shown her smug smile, and fidgeted with the glasses on her face. "I like Scott...but I think it was just a mistake to be in bed...I prefer Bobby or Jean anyway." She said, chuckling. Rogue heard the conversation and the warm tone from her rival, the same lady who could have ended her life there in the Savage land* left to be eaten by dinosaurs, but instead saved her life, she felt a warm feeling and blushed as she sat down and said to Logan and Beast, who were next to her. "Wow, I--ah can't believe this, for all that hard punches and surprise attack...I am very happy to said that Carol, despite our damn rivalary, is taking a damn good step in the right direction as a heroine...a captain....and a woman." She said, as she rubbed her side and then her cheek, feeling a warm blush occurred, as she suddenly stand up and turned to meet Carol, having some courage to speak to her...until she saw Carol wasn't there, but instead she saw Carol flying away from the window, but while she missed her goodbyes to Carol, she went to the window and leaned on it as she said.

"Good-bye Captain Marvel....I hope you'll keep the good work...and have a healthy and lasting relationship with your girlfriends."** She said, as she smiled a hopeful one as she felt warm inside of her, ignoring her injuries. "Someday...somehow...we could have been more." She said***
